I hit NYC around 3pm last week, but the friends I was meeting up with got held up on Long Island, so I had some time to kill. Tartinery is right next to the garage where I left my car, so I popped in for a quick bite, a drink, and the restroom. The food and drinks were absolutely awesome! I ended up spending a few hours hanging out there. Great little place to spend an afternoon writing! Watermelon Spritz amazing! (prosecco, fresh watermelon, fiera l'aperitivo, soda) Butternut Squash Soup delightfully perfect Chicken Salad Petite Tartine A+ Raspberry Pear Almond Milk Smoothie hit the spot! I do not recommend getting a matcha or a chai from here. The matcha was very bitter and poorly incorporated. The chai has almost no flavor and just tastes like milk with cinnamon. We politely asked for the tea bags and they offered to remake them which was very considerate. Unfortunately the remake was a slightly sweeter version of the former which still had no flavor. Our server was very kind and even discounted our drinks which was very appreciated. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable, just unfortunately can’t recommend these drinks.
The food was really great. I started off with two watermelon spritz. They were really good. For food, I had the egg and cheese brioche with avocado and bacon. I also tried the French toast and it was phenomenal! Very fluffy and sweet!! The place gets pretty busy so reservations are recommended. I had Frank as a server, he was really attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
Had a good experience here! It was a hot day in New York, and we were looking for a cool, cozy spot for brunch. The place was busy but welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive. The coffee was just okay, but the brunch was delicious, and the portions were satisfying. We enjoyed our time. We appreciated the service. We'd consider returning.
