We stopped here on our way to the ferry because my wife needed some kind of Asian food as she was “suffering from Asian food withdrawal”.The place was busy, mostly with pick up orders. We asked if we could get a table and we were directed to a table near the back of the room. This was a typical Japanese booth. Once there, we ordered An avocado roll, some Gyoza,a Donburi box and a soup.Everything seemed fine and on track, until it wasn’t. The food seemed to take a long time to arrive (most likely because we were on edge to get to the ferry terminal) once it arrived, it was the wrong order so we had to wait. A small Japs Restaurant,We had a miso which different from we ever had before. It come with broccoli, red bell peppers and some cucumber but taste good, which not too strong.It's good pork Gyoza recommend.For sushi roll, i love the red dragon roll, not too much rice and enough salmon.Also the Dynamite roll also recommended, big prawn tempura with mayo.The smoked salmon roll, I don't really like it because the taste just tasteless (my opinion)The chicken katsu Don, good sauce with plenty of chicken and really good while it's hot.The price it's affordable with good portions.
Disappointing… waited for over an hour for our food … food came one person at a time it seems like eternity in between a four people seat.. food is cold and took forever to bring in the next item. Service sucks….server did not use tray to bring soup holding one bowl with thumb almost touching the food… no hairnets and very disorganized…will not recommend and will sure let know of a our poor experience waste of our hard earned dollar
3 stars for the service.This’s the third time I visited this restaurant. Food is still great, but the service is somewhat disappointing.The waitress made a mistake when we were in line, serving the people who came later. Water was served after a long waiting time. Ordered take out (through an app) I was pleasantly surprised at how well presented everything was. Even as take out the tempura was pretty crispy so I imagine it is perfect if you dine in. The batter was light as air. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends. I ordered a good cross section of dishes to try them out and everything was consistently high quality.
Seemingly due to short staffing, there is a bit of a wait. However, we knew this going into the restaurant and it did not really impact our experience. Our server was incredibly kind and very friendly. The food was delicious and quite filling. We also found the prices to be incredibly reasonable. I would absolutely go back.
Walked in on my way to the ferry for a bite to eat. They were not busy with one table seated. I stood in the entrance for a good 5 minutes without any acknowledgment. Decided to leave assuming if it took that long to even seat somebody, the food would take way longer.
Always a treat to have take out from Taste of Tokyo. Hard working staff with very good food. The Pho is really good as well if you dont care for sushi. Cant say enough about this place. Hoping they can offer delivery again soon though : Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Excellent food and customer service! I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and remarkable Japanese dining experience in Sidney. Will come again!
