Living in San Diego and growing up in Walnut, I have had some very authentic dim sum. I miss being able to enjoy good dim sum close to where I live and this place combines the good comfort food and convenience aspects I grew up with. I have been here twice and enjoyed the food both times. This is more grab go but if you can find seating inside, it is also a good experience to enjoy brunch with friends/family. The waiters/waitresses do speak English if you don't speak Mandarin/Cantonese.They don't have the traditional hot teas you get at bigger dim sum restaurants but they do have Hong Kong milk teas and coffee, yum! This review is for the Tasty Box HK Bistro (next to Starbuck).We arrived for lunch on a Saturday and got a table at right away (no wait) ordered: Pork shrimp siew mai fresh tasty Steamed rice roll w/ char siu excellent! Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice dumpling) okay Lotus leaf sticky rice okay Salty fish minced meat w/ eggplant super delicious!! Highly recommended! Our food arrived quickly.Service was good friendly.We walked out happy satisfied. Will be back for other dishes.
Solid dim sum spot if you want something fairly fast and accommodating. See food pic! It's a small place but service is kind of quick. It's clean too.Food wise, it does taste good. But I've had better dim sum. Things were a bit bland. Fried rice was ok too. At least everything did taste fresh.If you're not wanting to drive an extra 10 mins over to Rowland, this place in DB is a good option instead. Prices are very reasonable!
UPDATED November 2023Shame on me for not updating my review because this place still rocks! They brought back more dim sum dishes and the service is still friendly attentive! Was sad after they changed the menu and took out some of my kids favorite dishes but now they brought it back and yep it is better than the rest of other place in the area with better quality you can taste!

My husband and I dined at this restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. We ordered the deep-fried pork chop with honey garlic sauce, satay beef soup with rice noodles, and seafood fried rice with XO sauce. Each dish exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be returning in the future.
This restaurant offers mediocre Hong Kong cuisine. It's a small, no-frills spot that doesn't impress. The food was quite average; the chow mein was excessively dry, and the stir-fried pickled vegetables were overly greasy, very salty, and lacked flavor. Overall, everything felt greasy.
The food is above average and the prices are reasonable. I really like the modern interior design. It's also a bit of an open-air restaurant when they open the windows, which is pleasant. Overall, I highly recommend this place for dim sum!

Food quality was average, not good not bad. But the lady at front desk gave me attitude for my take out question. Very bad experience for a restaurant visit.
Had all the same food with my family members, except I ate at here after gym this morning. I had diarrhea for whole day.
