I've visited this restaurant half a dozen times, so that shows how much I enjoy it as a repeat customer. However, tonight's experience was not up to par. Our server described the Crispy Cauliflower as fried, and we were expecting something similar to cauliflower poppers, but what we received was sautéed instead. It was disappointing. We requested a switch to fries, which they accommodated, but it came a bit late in the meal. The hummus dishes we ordered, which are usually delicious, didn't live up to our expectations as repeat customers. The falafel was also disappointing. As for navigating indoor dining during these times, it seemed like they were still getting the hang of it (Google incorrectly shows them as unavailable at the moment). Some of the safety measures were followed less rigorously than what the government recommends, which is pretty typical for restaurants trying their best. Conversely, some rules were enforced a bit too strictly, making things a little less smooth than they could be.
However, there's no need to dwell on that, as I'm sure they'll sort it out in time. The staff was incredibly friendly, so I’m giving them five stars. Ultimately, the delicious food made it all worthwhile.
We've been to Tavlin twice, and both times it's been a lovely experience. The staff is gracious and attentive, and their food is genuine Middle Eastern- everything tasty, tasteful, and deliciously flavored. It's just a level above your standard American eatery. My kids ordered fries, and even their fries were excellent! Perfectly sliced, salted, and crispy. Highly recommend.
Tavlin is one of our favorite restaurants for several reasons; the staff is always welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food is never disappointing and whenever we bring others to try Tavlin they are always very pleased. And the hummus at Tavlin is absolutely the best hummus!!!

Love eating at Tavlin, the waitresses (Carmen, Anna, Yvette, Angelica) are wonderful, the food is always great, Eric is very friendly and we never go home feeling disappointed.
Food is yummy and comes out fast. Service is good. Owner is very friendly. Family friendly but still nice ambience. Great to have a tasty kosher restaurant in the neighborhood.
The best Israeli food in North New Jersey! I love coming here whether I'm by myself or with my family. The waitstaff is friendly, and the food is always fresh!
