Went with my wife last for quick food and drink sat at the bar Bartender was great very friendly and drinks worth the $12. Was excited for a good meal. Had a card to open on arrival was told I couldn’t use it until after 1/10/24 so we brought it with us ended up being a free appetizer but they refused to honor it. Said was only good til end of Jan but had no expiration date on it. The food was disappointing for the price, our enchiladas were just empty uncooked tortillas soaking in a watery sauce with chicken,lettuce and MAYBE cheese thrown on top. Looked like slop thrown on a plate, but the rice and beans were on point.
When we want authentic Mexican food, we always choose Tavos. Last Saturday we forgot to make a reservation and when we arrived, the wait time was 30 minutes. No problem. The corner seats at the bar were free so we chose to sit there instead. And what a delight. It was casual, and relaxed. The drinks were exquisitely made and the appetizers come up in record time followed by perfectly prepared entrees. I love the fact that corn tortillas are used to prepare the encilladas. None of those chewy flour on this menu. All in all a great experience. Higly recommend Tavos when you want authentic Mexican cuisine.
Dinner was fantastic. We had a change of dinner plans for a group of 9, and they sat us in 15 minutes. The service was excellent; our waitress took such good care of us, and we got our food quickly. We also needed gluten free options and were very impressed with how knowledgeable the staff was in accommodating our needs. Highly recommend this place for both the service and the food quality!
I think Tavos does a fantastic job of serving a modern take on classic Mexican restaurant food. I ended up trying one of their specials tonight. It was well marinated, spicy jumbo shrimp with lots of delicious veggies and a super flavorful corn puree. Maybe a little heavy handed but who can complain about that! I also had their house mezcal margarita :

Literally the best Mexican food I've ever had. Has a large menu with tons of different options. Over the past year I have gone through almost the entire menu and have yet to find a single thing I dislike. The heat in a lot of the dishes are fantastic too. Basically everything is house made and the chipotle sauce is to die for!
Food tastes great, but a few of the classic dishes come prepared deconstructed which is odd. The enchiladas, for example, are not rolled. The flavor was good, but it just didn 't feel like an enchilada. Lots of tequila and drink options, friendly staff. Tasty zero proof drink options, as well.
Amazing authentic mexican food with a great ambiance you will not be disappointed! They also have a good selection of cocktails and a HUGE variety of tequilas. It is definitely on the pricier size but the portions match. The outdoor seating is quite nice in the summertime.
I love this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and made with all fresh ingredients. The bartender is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend checking out this Mexican restaurant.

Halibut fish tacos market style. Amazing. Definitely upscale Mexican but worth it.
Lovely neighborhood place. Great evening to eat outside on a taco Tuesday.
