We started with the Smoked Trout Deviled Eggs, and they were incredible! As soon as we took a bite, we exchanged amazed looks and both exclaimed, “Wow!” We’re big fans of deviled eggs, but they’re often lackluster at other restaurants. Taylor’s version is outstanding, and we’ll definitely order them again.
Next, we tried the Mussels on the Half Shell (a special of the day), which were very fresh—not overly chilled—and came with excellent dipping sauces. The Gnocchi, served in a creamy, flavorful onion soubise, was warm and delightful. This dish also earned a “wow” from us.

As we browsed the menu, we couldn’t help but be tempted by the appetizers; we wanted to order everything! We settled on the Oysters on the Half Shell, Padron Peppers, and Green Tomatoes. My son and I decided to share an entrée so we could sample all the appetizers and still have room for dessert. For our main course, we opted for a generously-sized ribeye, cooked to perfection, accompanied by delightful Hen of the Wood mushrooms. Lager on draft was refreshing. Delicious food and flexible wait staff chefs! We live very close by and have heard amazing things about Taylor's market and kitchen. I was initially put off by the limited menu options, around ~5 or so main course items and a lot of them chicken mushroom (which I can't eat), so I went with the ribeye. Our party of 6 adults and 2 children celebrated my husband's birthday here, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the entire experience. The service was exceptional, even though the dishes we ordered took a little time to prepare. We knew that meant the food was prepared just for us! We were seated in the perfect corner for a party with children, out of the way but not isolated from the rest of the restaurant. The menu changes regularly, so there is no need to comment on our specific dishes except to say we all enjoyed what we ordered, including appetizers, entrees, beer, wine, and desserts.

Absolutely delicious food and exceptional service in Sacramento! The staff is incredibly attentive, and the food quality is unparalleled. They also have a fantastic wine selection. Taylor's Kitchen is a hidden gem that you definitely shouldn't overlook!
