This place is a complete joke. They have no idea how to make tea properly. I ordered the Russian Caravan tea, and it took forever for my order to arrive. It seemed like they had to go pick the tea leaves themselves! When the tea finally arrived, it was just water that had maybe seen a tea bag at some point. The cup was the wrong size, there was no tea strainer, and the teapot looked like it had been through a war. To top it off, the oat milk tasted more like soy milk.
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with a wide selection of whole foods and an exceptional variety of teas. It may be a bit challenging to find down the small lane off Otago Street, but the experience is truly magical and worth the effort.
Its a quirky little place with a nice atmosphere, I'm sure it's heaving when students are in term, but it was quiet when we visited. We had the tea of the month and a slice of carrot cake, both the tea and the cake were excellent.
This is one of the most commited hippie tea place i have ever visited. Good food, but just a few glutenfree optionsm the Spicy chai was very Nice and one serving was quite large.
