This place has quickly become one of my fave noodle spots. This Malaysian restaurant seems to really have it down pat with efficient but polite service, perfectly made noodles, flavoursome sauces, fresh ingredients, lots of texture and really reasonable prices (especially given it 's in the CBD . It 's clean, bright and comfortable too.<br/ <br/ I took a tip from someone and ordered extra 'wok hei ' (that beautiful wok char, no extra cost! on my Char Kway Teow and it was excellent. I think I only paid about $12. Smokey, generous and tasty. You get to choose your protein and I ordered it with seafood, which was lovely. Tea Woks is a cozy, casual café located on Hay Street that specializes in Malaysian cuisine. They also offer excellent bubble tea at great prices. The menu features a mouthwatering selection of Malay favorites, including noodles, chicken wings, and bak kut teh. During my visit, I opted for the Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, practically melting in my mouth. The rice was infused with delicious chicken flavor, and the chili sauce made for a perfect complement. However, the soup was somewhat lacking in flavor and could use some improvement.
Kolo mee that’ll transport you to Sarawak, wanton soup that hits the spot, deep fried chicken wings for a steal and yummy salted fish fried rice all served up in a clean, spacious and warm little place on Hay Street. Really happy with my meal, though someone at our table ordered hainanese chicken rice and the chicken wasn’t as fabulous as the rice, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Will be back to work my way through the menu.
Found this cozy malaysian restaurant along hay street offering classic noodle such as kolo mee. Though my favorite here would definitely be their fried kolo mee. Flavour is good. The food here is not only reasonably priced but tasty! Staff are friendly and accommodating. And not to mention their self serve condiments which is rare find these days! Keep it up Tea woks <br/ <br/ Try their kolo Mee and ho fun! We found it to be tasty. Pan mee was nice too however I would prefer my noodles to be more chewy.
The menu may be small, but it’s done to perfection. The kway teow was delicious, and the dumplings were fantastic. The bubble tea was great as well. We ordered pork fried rice, char kway teow, fried wontons, two spring rolls, and a bubble tea, all for just $34.
Perfect spot for a lunch catch-up! I love that they offer both bubble tea and food here. Their kolomee is delicious—I’ve already returned three times just for it!
