As soon as I walked in, I felt a wave of happiness. It wasn’t fancy, but it had that classic Jewish deli vibe—definitely check. They had all the usual appetizers displayed (check) and hot dogs sizzling on the griddle (check). The owner greeted me warmly, with just the right amount of gruffness and a New York accent that could rival my sister's! (BIG check). After I placed my order, I shared my previous dining challenges with him. He didn’t feel the need to promote himself or the deli, which I respected, but he did share some impressive credentials.
I got everything to go, and as the delicious aroma filled my car, I could practically feel my arteries starting to harden—this is a good thing!...
This place has real deal Pastrami (for when you don't want to go to Katz) a def must try. Been here many times and I've honestly never had anything other than pastrami on rye with mustard. Pastrami is done just right and I would highly recommend it to anyone to go check it out. Inside isn't anything spectacular, but just go order grad and go don't worry about esthetics trust me. Also staff can be a bit rude and unfriendly (maybe if you're not a regular) but these types of places are the only ones where I can get over stuff. Check it out!
Perfect! Been looking for a good kosher deli since i moved to NJ and this is the one. I will definitely be here a lot. Great selection and very friendly workers/ owners. The matzo ball soup was simple and tasty- so comforting to eat. The potato latkes were the best ive ever had! The pickles were also natural, homemade and perfect. If i lived in the area i would be here 3-5 days a week. But i have to say that it is well worth the journey for me to stop by frequently despite distance.
arrived from Florida, and tonight (Oct 26th at approx 7:30pm) i drove to this kosher deli in Tenafly. this is what i got when i ordered a corned beef on rye. i 've seen larger portions in prison videos. This pathetic sandwich (with not even a pickle) along with a tasteless dixie cup sized portions) cost me $28.50. shameful unless u like disappointment and wasting time and money.

Their pastrami is delicious—it's neither fatty nor chewy. I ordered a deconstructed pastrami sandwich and assembled it myself at home when I was ready to eat.
Their soup and sandwiches are great! The gentlemen who staff and run the deli are always helpful and accommodating.
Good frozen section and deli. Great sandwiches. Best hot dog on earth. Go to refuge for former Harold's customers.
