Nice atmosphere and décor although the oversized wine bottles are grotesque. The waiters are friendly and helpful but the owner walks around in a lumberjack shirt outside of his trousers. I would have gladly given the girl that waited on us a tip but it is the owner that in the end collects the money and encourages the customer to skip the step to add tip when you pay by card.-Nice collection of wine.-The special entrée of some sort of confeit of chicken was bland.-My wife had seafood rice, I had a grilled chicken and these were nice.-Tiramisu was nice.Conclusion: Nice but quality of food and presentation a bit mixed.Note: There is no rating "Good", it goes from "Average" to "Very good" whil...
We have been coming here for around 13 years and always come away looking forward to the next time. We love the food and the service is always amazing. We leave our drinks up to Chris (owner) as his knowledge and passion for wine is spot on. Our children (now adults) have grown up coming here every couple of months as our special restaurant, and its still the one they choose when asked.
The occasion was our 25th wedding anniversary and the decision to go here was based solely on the recommendations on TripAdvisor. It was so worth it! Each course was incredible. I had the quail and chicken dishes which were perfect in every way. Dessert was very special as well which is pictured here. I can highly recommend Tender Traps food and service! Thank you.
This is the one place I can recommend in the Manningham area that will always deliver.The wine selection it excellent, staff know their menu and wine pairing.Food is as good as you will get anywhere in CBD Melbourne without the travel.Prices are city but consider your not travelling or paying for a carpark so don't worry about it you will be more than happy! I was expecting a fine dining experience, but was very disappointed. I had been there for special occasions in the past and was suitably impressed, but my last visit was disappointing, steak was tough and the sides were meaner by comparison to previous visits.
A terrific special night restaurant. You are spoilt with the service and the quality of the food. I had the scallops and the steak and my friend the calamari and the duck breast. All were exceptionally good. I've recomended this place to other people.
Had a great date night with my wife - very good service, with great advice offered by Chris on wine as required. Introduced me to a great dessert wine. A great venue for a special occasion - could see lots of other couples enjoying the experience

Lovely personal and friendly service, an extensive wine list and some really good local beers, but the food was the highlight. Fabulous flavours, delightful textures, neat and modern presentation. I'll go back!
