We are frequent customers of Tenzan (1-2 times a month for the last 4 years) and now we're noticing the quality of the food and service is starting to slip. The last few times we went, the food wasn't as fresh as it used to be and delivery service has been hit or miss.Tonight we waited close to an hour for our $70 order, only for it to arrive cold and missing an order of rice. We live 4 blocks from the restaurant. When we called, they said sorry and that it would take half an hour to get there and we said that's alright, we'd still like to have the rice as it was the only side to our main dish.The driver comes back 15 minutes later with the rice, which is also cold...go figure.I want to beli...
This used to be our to go spot to get sushi. But last few times we have been there, service has been so-so to nonexistent. And quality of food has deteriorated SOOO MUCH. Food feel and taste very cheap, similar to those you will see at a all you can eat buffet, mind you their prices are not cheap. I honestly think those who have rated this place 2 stars or higher are friends or family helping them boost rating. We went during a week night, maybe not much customers so food was not moving hence the poor quality ? If you want to go for the Ambiance and drink maybe, but if you're looking for good quality food and service this is definitely not the place to go.
I absolutely love eating at this Japanese restaurant. Their eel Avocado rolls are the best! My friends and I have been coming here for a few years now. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. In addition to the delicious eel Avocado rolls, the California rolls and specialty rolls like the Dancing eel roll are also fantastic. We've had both lunch and dinner here, and I even hosted one of my birthday parties at this restaurant. They offer tables and private booths, and the restaurant is always clean. I highly recommend this place to everyone - it's perfect for date nights, family outings, and get-togethers with friends.
Usually I love this place, but felt the service was pretty bad this time around. The waiter told me to sit at a table. He never handed me a menu. He seemed really distracted and didn't take any notice of me waiting. I waited for a bit of time. Finally two other customers came in after I had been waiting for my menu. He immediately got their menus, while never giving mine. Felt completely ignored by the staff. :

Let’s start off with me asking for spicy mayonnaise and the person who answered the phone telling me that it’s $1.50 per container. I asked if they give you at least one for free she said no that’s the managers policy it’s $1.50. container. Then the order comes there soy sauce is in a package. Can you say ghetto?
Food is good and decor is nice. Has several private rooms and upstairs. Down side is they charge you 3.99% for using credit card so bring cash unless your cc has higher cash back.
It was a rainy day and the restaurant was quiet..the food is delicious. A but pricey but was worth it. The pineapple fried rice and udon soup noodles were yummy!Food: 5/5
This is the best udon noodles I have ever tasted. I have been to San Francisco and other places, but this restaurant surpasses them all.
