To our surprise, the chef—who is also the owner—came out to address the issue. He insisted that the scallops were chewy because they were “spawning,” which didn’t really justify the texture. What followed was an uncomfortable back-and-forth that lasted about 5-7 minutes, where he continued to defend the dish. It felt quite rude for him to argue with us at the table, especially considering we had all spent a significant amount on our meal for just one uneaten dish. In the end, he agreed to remove the scallops from her bill, but by that time, the damage was done. Our experience at Terra was definitely one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. We went there to celebrate our anniversary, and my boyfriend worked with the managers to arrange a surprise treasure chest/gift box for me to open at our table. They executed it beautifully! The food was absolutely incredible—every single dish. We tried the green salad with goat cheese, lamb mac, oysters, and flounder. My boyfriend couldn't stop asking for the recipe for the lamb mac—be sure to try it when you visit! We also indulged in the cookies and cream dessert, which was delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic night, and I'm so glad my boyfriend chose to make a reservation here.
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Terra this past Saturday evening. Everything from our exquisitely prepared cuisine to our server was amazing. I had a salad and scallops with the opera cake and it was the best meal I’ve had in Columbia. My husband had an amazing carpaccio appetizer with a pizza. All of their menu items are farm to table fresh, so their menu changes according to the season. To make an already great meal even better, be sure to try one of their many desserts created by their own pastry chef. We had such a memorable meal and can’t wait to return!
I can't wait to go back! The service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. I enjoyed the steak frites, scallops, and smoked chicken pizza. The drinks were delightful, and the vegetables were fresh and full of flavor. As for parking, you can try finding a spot on the street, but I recommend using the valet to enhance your dining experience.
One of our favorite spots in Columbia! We've been dining there for over 20 years whenever we're in town. The menu is creative and regionally inspired, the wine selection is excellent, and the service is always outstanding.
We visited the restaurant today right as it opened and managed to snag a table, and we’re so glad we did. The pork chop was incredibly juicy and full of flavor, and the squash blossoms were fantastic!
