I stopped for lunch at this restaurant after a hike at Eagle Mountain Lake, and I can confidently say that it won't be my last visit! The food and service were exceptional. The place was clean, and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu when we had questions. I ordered the meatloaf with Shiner gravy, accompanied by homemade fries and fresh green beans, while my companion chose the Vera Cruz chicken with onion rings and homemade mashed potatoes. The chef even came by our table, as well as others, to ensure everything met our expectations! The presentation and portion sizes made us feel like we were dining in a resort. You could really tell that everything was freshly prepared!
Texan Diner is an excellent eatery! We've had both breakfast and lunch here, and each time the food has been superb, the portions generous, and the value outstanding. On this visit, I tried the lunch special, Shrimp Etouffee, paired with string beans cooked with bacon and onions—absolutely delicious. The Etouffee was rich and flavorful without being too salty or fishy. My wife had the Sabine Pass Chicken Sandwich with onion rings; the rings were fantastic, and the sandwich was perfect. If you're craving hearty, tasty Southwest fare, this place is definitely worth a visit!
I went to this restaurant for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning. Even though it was quite busy, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was spacious, bright, and very clean. The service was exceptional, with the entire staff giving attentive care. We all opted for the French toast with bacon, and the slices of toast were remarkably large. The eggs were fresh, and the bacon was cooked just right. I highly recommend checking out this place!
We discovered Texan Diner through a foodie group we follow and were thrilled to finally try it! Almost everything on the menu is made from scratch. There were so many tempting choices, but even our second stomachs had to say no! Shown in the pictures are the chicken-fried New York steak and eggs plate, the breakfast Monte Cristo with chipotle raspberry jam you won’t want to miss, and from the seasonal menu, the mango French toast.
