For once I am so so happy a plan broke through. A friend and I stopped at Pho Thai Nam only to find out they were closed for an extended July fourth holiday. No worries. That 's what google is for. And lucky for us, Thai Orchid was the next closest Thai spot. It 's pretty small inside, nothing super glamorous, but we were welcomed and seated quickly. I was planning on going for drunken noodles (my favorite form of noodley goodness) but another wide rice noodled dish caught my eye, and I chose the Evil jungle instead. My. Lawd. I was craving Thai food when I first got to the Blue Bell area, so I decided to check out Thai Orchid. I'm not sure if this is a chain restaurant or not, but the food was pretty good. I started off with the Tom Yum soup, which had a really nice lemongrass flavor to it and a good spice level. It was definitely a good way to start the meal! Then I decided to order the evil Jungle Princess as my main dish. I have never seen this offered at a Thai restaurant before and it was one of the restaurants specialty items, so I knew I had to give it a go. I love spicy food, and this was one of the spicier menu items as well. The thick noodles had a good chew to them, and there was so much meat and veget...
The prices are high, portions are smaller, and the chicken was extremely dry and unpleasant. After just two pieces, I couldn't finish it. We used to dine here often, but the quality has declined. The $12.95 portion consisted of two small veggie egg rolls and three veggie dumplings. My husband, a veggie lover, found his meal inedible and my chicken was also dry. The total bill for takeout was $49.65, definitely not worth it!
This Thai restaurant is located in a surprising shopping center, but don't let that deter you - it's a lovely, cozy spot with a nice dining room. The service we received from a friendly young man was exceptional. The tom kah soup was the best I've ever had, with a bold lime flavor that was both fresh and delicious. So happy to have found this place! Thai is my favorite, so I am picky. This place is wonderful! The service is excellent and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxing and calm. I highly recommend the jasmine rice soup, if you like something lighter with ginger. The spicy jungle princess is excellent. Everything is fresh and delicious. This has quickly become one of our new favorite places.
Tried this for the first time. We get Thai food from all over and usually get drunken noodles or pad Thai. Tonight we tried their spicy drunken noodle and it was bad, the noodles were so soggy. The spiciness and flavor was good but the beef was so tough and the noodles were horrible. I would not recommend.
My wife and I have visited this restaurant a few times from mid-2023 to early 2024 and each time we have found the food to be flavorful and well prepared. We both enjoyed our meals at this friendly and casual establishment.
Lovely place service ,food and decor are fabulous. Staff are friendly. It's BYOB The Duck in curry sauce was delicious not dry at all . We've done both take out and eat in and both are great . Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
