Thai Orchid Restaurant

We dined at the Thai Orchid on a balmy mid-autumn night when the good weather had attracted a large number of diners to Henley Sqare.Fortunately there was an outside table available and so we were able to sit and enjoy the warm night and the atmosphere of the square.Our food orders were taken promptly whilst our drinks arrived soon after we had ordered and paid for them at the outside bar.The various dishes ordered being flavoursome and tasty were enjoyed by all at our table. I took my partner here for her birthday recently. We ordered mixed entree for starters, followed by Pepper Egg Prawns, Lemongrass Beef and Egg fried rice with soy sauce. Everything was excellent. Large number of prawns in pepper egg dish, which in many other restaurants only give you 2 or 3, this had at least 8. Enough to share between us. The beef was tender and flavoursome, though a little creamy for my liking. But that's an individual thing. Service was excellent, very attentive and super courteous. Both meals were quite expansive and we took some home for the next day. Reasonable prices.

Check your invoice before making the final payment as we were overcharged. Very, very busy environment meant there was no-one available to discuss this overcharge. Large room and very noisy. Not good for those with hearing difficulties unless you secure a balcony seat. Service was reasonable and meals delivered quickly. Meals were tasty however having just come back from a trip to Thailand they just don't seem authentic. Quite expensive for what you get.

I ordered a takeaway prawn pad thai noodle... it had no flavour what so ever and only 3 prawns.. ( an insult ) the seemingly unhappy staff here also need a bit of a kick of chilly or something .. I won't return ...Wish I'd gone back to Lemongrass Thai on Rundle street... where the same dish was tasty and with 7 prawns ... with speedy friendly service Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Very disappointed! We ordered take away green chicken curry , red beef curry and lemongrass chicken and they all tasted like the curry was out the same jar just a different colour . Hardly a vegetable in sight , sloppy , inauthentic and the meat tough and tasteless . Possibly the worst Thai food we've tasted ! Waste of money and won t be back .

I've been coming here since I was born. 21 years later, and it's still my favourite restaurant. Great staff run by a friendly family. Excellent view and service. And the food has always been great; highlights include the chicken satays, moo kati, spring rolls, bazil beef/chicken and drunken noodles.

We were booked in for 6.30 and were one of 5 tables occupied so we were getting great service. The food was delivered at a reasonable time and was very tasty. By 7.30 it get busy and very noisy. Price was a little high at $100 per couple

I guess for a place with such a good location it's typical to play less than necessary attention to the quality of the restaurant itself. The food was average, service good, price quite high for what it is. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Evening spoilt by watered down spirits - left feeling ripped off. Dinner was good, ordered vodka shots to end the evening with a toast $120 for 14 shots. All were watered down. Will not return.

In a nut shell ........... great service, fantastic food, lovely location. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant when visiting Henley Square.
