Seeing the location and decoration of the Tham Nak Thai in Grandvaux definitely lowers the hopes of what will be found in the plate. However, it is the food that surprises the most, as it tastes delicious, but more so, like it really was made in Thailand. The decoration is between a thai restaurant and the small local bar, which gives an overall feeling of awkwardness. The setting isn't bad. There is a nice terrasse outside with a beautiful view but it doesn't feel at all like a thai restaurant. These features contribute to highlight the food, as it is so unexpectedly good. Stumbled, or rode, across this great little Thai a while ago, and came across it again today. Our waiter was great, a real chirpy chap speaking English and French.The menu has the great Thai classics, but here they're done really well with crisp fresh produce. Because I'd been before, and most Asian resto's damp down the spice, I knew to ask the chirpy chap to request more spices for my plates. I'm so glad I did, the plates were just perfect! To start I had a great Tom Yum Gai, while Ilona had ok Spring Rolls. after that I had a very tasty spicy beef salad and Ilona had the Shrimp Phad Thai which was very good, all sitting outside underneath the trees with an amazing view! very tasty and goo...
This Thai restaurant is a new addition in the lovely village of Grandvaux. It only opened 7 months ago. Located next to 'Hotel du Monde' on the village square, it offers indoor dining as well as alfresco dining in the summer. Superb view over the vineyards & the Lake of Geneva under the trees. The Chef and his staff are from Thailand. Therefore, the card offers authentic Thai food. Living in Thailand and visiting the premises with a Thai friend, we found the food truly worth while. Plenty to choose from on the menu. On weekdays, it is advisable to book before going (Tel. 021 799 12 07). The place is already well-known by locals. It is closed on Mondays. Highly recommended address.
Wir haben dieses Restaurant auf Tripadvisor gefunden und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Der junge Besitzer hat uns trotz seiner Alleinigkeit und etwas gestressten Zustands mit einem großen Lächeln begrüßt. Wir empfehlen die knusprige Ente und die Ente mit Pfeffer und Knoblauch. Wir hatten auch die süß-sauren Garnelen, aber sie waren nicht so lecker. Das Ingwerhuhn war wunderbar mit seinen vielen frischen Ingwerscheiben. Der Blick auf den Genfersee ist hervorragend. Der Besitzer spricht sowohl Französisch als auch Englisch. Zögern Sie nicht, hierher zu kommen!

Went based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Would highly recommend if desiring a break from the Italian, French, and Swiss food in the Vaud region. Not exactly inexpensive, but was a nice break from the 100chf meals (2 ppl) previously enjoyed in the region. About 60chf for two entrees and beverages. Was definitely a nice local option to have down the street from the b&b.
Ursprünglich habe ich das Restaurant zufällig bei einem Spaziergang durch die Weinberge von Lavaux entdeckt. Seitdem war ich schon mehrmals dort. Der Empfang ist immer freundlich und das thailändische Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Bei gutem Wetter kann man an Tischen mit Blick auf den See sitzen.
