We stumbled upon The Angel by chance, and we were so impressed that we've returned many times since. Since you can't make reservations in advance, I've found that arriving early or with some extra time before your meal is a good strategy. The warm and inviting atmosphere hits you as soon as you walk in, which is probably why we came back after our first visit. The menu offers such a wide variety of options that it can be challenging to decide what to order this time and what to save for our next visit! So far, I've been completely satisfied with the food, and I hope that continues for a long time.
This beautifully restored timbered country pub has been our favourite eating place for many years. The atmosphere is great with a well stocked bar with cask ales and a good wine list. As tables can not be booked, one may have to wait for table to become vacant on busy nights, but this is not normally a problem. The very varied and extensive menu is on the boards on the wall where one chooses and orders at the bar. The food is normally of a very high standard and I can especially recommend the afters, if you can still manage them. The prices are reasonable for the area and the service is friendly.
Some of the best vegan food I've ever had! This beautiful 16th-century pub is located in a charming village in Suffolk, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're nearby and looking for something special. The atmosphere is both elegant and cozy, which is also reflected in the food. While there aren't many vegan options, the ones they do offer are truly divine! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive as well. I can't wait to return!
