The Australian Heritage Hotel

Once we were actually served on the cash, we could not mistake the service it was friendly and dedicated. the effort is that they do not seem to notice that the people wait at the lower bar so that we wait there for a few time until we pulled into the other bar. there was no sign that it was unattended. the food delivery was quite crisp, so no problem. what I had read about this pub, made it something historical and quirky when we felt when we visited, and the 'kat of arms 'pizza' not really impress except in title and concept. it had kangaroo on one half and emu on the other half, but the meat was dry and identical in look and so different from what meat was on which side, there was no poss...

I wanted to eat some unique food when I was in Sydney and whenever I mentioned that to anyone, they all mentioned the Australian Heritage Hotel Pub. The Hotel/Pub is located in The Rocks area of town. We got a bit turned around on how...to find it BUT we did! It is definitely a PUB so don’t think “restaurant” . It has a fun Pub vibe! There was outside seating, a bar and it was pleasantly casual. Like many places in Australia, you order at the bar, and they bring the food to you. The Pub boasts a unique menu featuring dishes like Kangaroo burgers, Crocodile Pizza, Pepper Kangaroo Pizza AND the Coat of Arms Pizza which is ½ Kangaroo and ½ Emu. the hotel is very well located and to walk to the skyscraper, the harbour and dozens of restaurants. the best at the hotel, which is in two buildings in an old shopping house, is the outside deck with pool, spa and...gym it has a beautiful view of the city and the harbour and very comfortable chairs and couches as well as changing rooms and showers. we had a late flight back to the usa and the hotel let us check and then use the pool area and changing rooms before we had a shuttle to the airport. our room was a large suite with a kitchen and a room divider between the two beds. the breakfast was included in our plan. while we paid a lot of money, we met two Canadian couples who had booked un...

Can't get more Aussie then the Heritage Hotel, it's not flashy or sleek or comfy as many of the other pubs around The Rocks. There is something about a nostalgic and cozy pub, although some of art work around were a bit risqué. The menu were Aussie themed which featured kangaroo, crocodile, barramundi among more standard selections. I had the fish (the barramundi) chips. It was massive, great if you're hungry. Taste wise though it was rather salty, too much salt sprinkled on the batter. The chips were so so. My friends fared better with their meals. The pizza choice was what attracted us (emu, kangaroo etc but the atmosphere was what charmed: a real sense of old Sydney (and where better than at the Rocks? , a phenomenal selection of beers and and good, rough-and-ready service. A great informal supper.

we ran here after the end of the bridgeclimb at 9:30 a.m. for a late dinner. the pizza was quickly prepared and was delicious. the menu looked great and let us wish we could try other items / back!

Just dropped in for a beer so chose their on tap Bavarian style pilsner very tasty. Good street side seating and fun music. Will return for food on another day.

We ate at the Hotel quite a few times during a visit to Sydney. Meals were varied and fresh. The staff very friendly and helpful.

best pizzas round. very authentic pub with very friendly and efficient service. beer is also abundant
