We have dined at Aviary countless times, but last night we made the mistake of choosing to eat at the bar. Once it became busy, we were completely forgotten. We ordered an appetizer and a main course for each of us, received the appetizer, and then waited... and waited for our meals. Eventually, the staff realized they had never put our dinner orders in. Instead of being upfront and honest, they simply told us our meals would be ready soon. And then we waited some more. It became clear to us that our dinner orders had been placed but had been pushed to the back of the line. We ultimately decided to leave, at least not having to pay for our drinks and appetizer.
I've been to The Aviary many times and something was off about this visit. Restaurant was quiet. We were there to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the filet and quality and cook was poor. I've ordered the filet here in the past and definitely not as good. Ordered medium and was mostly well done except one small section on side. Another person ordered well done steak tips. Half were cooked medium which were shared with others. No one checked on us until after the meal so didn't have a chance to say anything. Dessert took 20 mins. Slow night shouldn't equal slow service. Not sure what happened here.
When I booked 1:30 reservation, there was no indication that I noticed that it was brunch and only the brunch menu was being served . We did not want to waste time so we stayed and ordered brunch, but I really didn't want brunch. French toast had no flavor and was very dry. Like it was left under the heat lamp while my husband's steak and eggs were being booked. The best thing we ordered was the passion fruit sangria.
We were a party of 3 and we all arrived separately. We were welcomed immediately and seated at the table upon each person's arrival. Our server, Ashley, was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I have a gluten allergy and Ashley was able to provide guidance with the menu and ensure my dietary needs were met. Best of all the food was AMAZING!!!!

Very disappointed. We were seated at the worst table in the restaurant. Thought the other tables were going to be utilized but were not. Food was cold and the scallop plate was awful. Got a few burnt sweet potato chips and chunks of cold broccoli. Won't be going back anytime soon.
The food was excellent. Our server, however, was having a bad night. Forgot to send our appetizer order to the kitchen and then forgot about us for a half hour. Had to hail her down so we could place our dinner order. The dining room wasn't all that busy.
The interior was beautiful but a little to dark . Asked for medium rare steak tips but they were medium well. Overall it was a good night but don't think I would be returning during evening hours
Great atmosphere was really good! I was disappointed with my nest salad my favorite dish-chicken didn't seem fresh grilled? I will be back regardless -very consistent and lovely atmosphere

Breakfast was delicious. Eggs were fresh, and everything had great flavor. The service was great!
