The Bagel House - Tisch resevieren

Making an educated guess, but I imagine this place is not doing so great. Prior to the pandemic their prices were decent—maybe slightly elevated compared to the rest of the area. But as of late, The Bagel House is rapidly and dramatically altering their prices and it's making it difficult to support them.When a simple bacon+egg+cheese cost more than working over a hour of this state's minimum wage is huge issue. Not talking about a full breakfast plate, like just a egg sandwhich. To complete your breakfast with a coffee, harsh brown, or a water is going to push your quick breakfast over $20, easily. As others pointed out, it's not a bad sandwich but it really isn't anything to preach about....

The ordering process lacked clarity, with numerous add-on promotions that were confusing. While it advertises that you can "choose any bagel," there is no actual option to select your bagel type when ordering any bagel sandwich (both MEC and CC). I had to specify the type of bagel in the description. The meat and eggs were well-cooked, but the prices were far too high for what you receive. Although it wasn't terrible and we finished our meal, we've definitely had better bagel sandwiches for half the price. It’s frustrating to see such an American classic come with such a hefty price tag, especially considering how the economy is right now. Would I recommend this place? Maybe for a special occasion, but I can’t justify this expense on a regular basis. There are plenty of more affordable bagel shops out there if you’re willing to travel. I chose this one because it was just a mile and a half away, instead of having to trek from Philly to Jenkintown or Willow Grove for a Manhattan Bagel. However, after this price experience, I think I’d prefer the longer trip next time. Just six months ago, I paid about $15 for a dozen bagels and $5 or $6 for a variety of cream cheeses, plus a cheaper sandwich. (...

We 've been here several times, and have always been pleased. Their bagels never were over-the-top good, but they were decent and provided a hearty foundation for cream cheese and lox. The last visit was different. I 'm not sure if they 're under new ownership, if they changed their recipe, or if it was an off day. The bagels were bready, and lacked the dense, chewy interior necessary to even qualify as a bagel. The flavor was bland, and faded with the addition of cream cheese. Their bagels rival New York's style bagels. The bagels are not too heavy, they have a nice light crispy crust and a very tender inner layer. They're chewy yet tender. The inner bread layer has just enough moistness that makes you hate to even toast them. The flavors offered are your typical varieties, but well worth the taste. You may find them a bit pricey, but it's a nice splurge. The server was pleasant and courteous. Stop in if your in the mood for a taste of New York.

Bought 6 bagels to go. Cost $16. Thought we were accidentally charged for a dozen. Nope. That’s how much they cost. Even though we can walk to the bagel house, we will be going to Fil A Bagel where we can get 13, yes, 13 bagels for the same price.

I will not be back here. $21 for a breakfast sausage egg and cheese on a bagel, a coffee and a water. The sandwich was below average. Barely warm, egg and sausage were not fresh. Cheese was that yellow cheese that comes in plastic wrapping. Gross
