Updated for 2022. I still love this place. It is amazing how their incredible delectables can bring so much fulfillment to our lives in Placer county. Recently tried the chocolate pistachio and raspberry croissant. OMG yummy! Original post have traveled all over the U.S. and Europe. At least for the U.S., they easily hands down have the best croissants. The flakiness of all of their savory and sweet croissants is phenomenal and the added ingredients such as the chocolate they use for the chocolate croissant is just delicious. So amazing that these amazing bakers found this small corner of the country to bless us with their wonderful goods.
This place is unbelievable. We've been here three times since we moved to Auburn, and every experience has been fantastic. The prices are so reasonable for the quality, which is exceptionally high. The bread is delicious, and they don't skimp on what they put in their sandwiches. The desserts and loaves of bread are the best in town. The service has been great each time incredibly efficient, even when it's busy. I've never had to wait long for food. So appreciative that this business is in Auburn.
I ordered red velvet and chocolate raspberry cupcakes with buttercream frosting for my son’s 7th birthday. We had high hopes for them, but were sadly disappointed. They were, without a doubt, the worst cupcakes we've ever tasted. I spent $70 on 24 cupcakes, and unfortunately, I ended up having to throw them away. I won’t be making this mistake again.
Outside of Germany where I was born and raised this place makes the best bread I have ever had and they also deliver to many of the local grocery stores. I need to make it into the store sometime to try their pastries but I have no doubt they are superb. I only wish they made fresh Brötchen. We are very lucky to have such an amazing bakery nearby. This cafe has a friendly, attentive staff and a beautiful selection of pastries. The sandwiches and salads are unique combinations. I thoroughly enjoyed the hibiscus cooler. We had no trouble getting a seat for early lunch on a Tuesday. Outdoor seating is available.
Everything is excellent.The variety of French bread,all mouth watering to the moist cookies with so much flavor.The vegetable sandwich is so delicious ,I keep ordering it,rather than try other choices.
I ordered a lemon meringue cake for a baby shower. It was delicious! Everyone at the shower raved about it. Lemon cake filled with lemon curd and frosted with toasted meringue. Yum!!

Carrot flaxseed vegan and gluten free muffin was so delicious. We were just passing through but would love to come back. Cozy setting.
