I’m appalled to see foie gras on a menu! As someone who values ethical dining, I cannot support a restaurant that serves this cruel and inhumane product. The production of foie gras involves force-feeding ducks or geese, causing immense suffering and health issues for the birds. This practice is so egregious that foie gras is banned in several countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as in parts of the United States. I urge “Bakers table” to reconsider their menu choices and remove foie gras. Until they do, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone who cares about animal welfare. I was disappointed with my veal (Jaeger schnitzel) as it was not cooked properly and was served undercooked. The server returned to acknowledge my concern after the chef had checked it and agreed with me. Although the server offered to make a fresh one, I wasn't feeling hungry anymore. However, the item was removed from my bill. The service itself was commendable. Nonetheless, the chef made two critical mistakes: the veal was still quite thick in some spots, suggesting it wasn't adequately beaten, and it was sent out undercooked.
We ate here for the first time today and we were not disappointed. The food was high quality and delicious. I wanted to take a picture of our dishes but it was so delicious that we ate it too quickly to snap a photo. They also made a very generous donation to our nonprofit animal sanctuary. We will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: They had quite a few vegetarian options but not many vegan options.
I had been searching for a French bistro and finally discovered 'The Baker's Table' in New Smyrna Beach. The Basil Ricotta Gnocchi was absolutely delicious—it was so good that I wanted to lick the plate! The Belgian Chocolate Cake was simply divine. My server, Dan, was incredibly attentive and friendly. The Bakers Table charged us for two sandwiches but only made one and sent us on our way with just that single sandwich. When we went back for the second one, they finally prepared it but didn't offer any kind of discount. Instead, the staff was quite snarky. I'm really disappointed with this poor level of customer service.
Dan and Allie were our servers, and they were both fantastic! We tried the homemade cinnamon sugar donuts, and they were delicious! One of the specials was a breakfast omelette, which was absolutely delightful. I will definitely be coming back!
Always fabulous food and great service. The best restaurant in NSB. This place has local flavor, local charm and wonderful food and really good specials. You have to try their homemade deserts and baked goods.
