I went to the Bay Fish Shop on Jetty Street Glenelg based on their reviews. I have never had a worse experience. The service was slow and the order expensive. We ordered a grilled barramundi, battered whiting and minimum size chips for $22. The barramundi ($8.50) was the tail end. Slightly bigger than my palm but only about 1 cm in depth. The whiting ($9.00) was inedible because I am not sure what I bit into to begin with. The entire first mouthful had to be spat out because of some large unidentifiable hard shards. After reading reviews on trip advisor we chose this fish and chip shop , ordered what we hoped would be some yummy seafood delights , when we got to the park and unwrapped our lunch it was nothing but $55 worth of battered deep fried oil covered mess, batter was so thick and oily it was sickly .... maybe we should have asked for crumbed or the person taking the order given us the option . If you are after a batter and oil attack go for it .... ours went in the bin along with the fish that was full of bones and a few scales !
We ate food from the Bay Fish Shop last week.Chicken nuggets for the kids and Schnitzel burger for me.The food was good quality, service was friendly and efficient and I found the prices to be reasonable. (chips and schnitzel were crispy) A small portion of chips can feed 2 people.I'll eat food from here again and recommend Bay Fish Shop.A tip for those who like crispy chips - if they are put in a plastic bag for too long, they'll go soggy.

bought 3 butterfish and large chips, asked for the chips to be well done as we like them crispy. we got soggy, stale chips, even the fish batter was soggy. Time to change the oil guys. Paid $23 and threw it in the bin. If you have no idea how to cook don't run a takeaway
Great location, food that's quick, delicious and definitely worth it! Not many tables inside so it's really a buy and fly! Chips were great and I enjoyed the range of meals and grilled fish! myfoodistalking.wordpress.com
The best fish and chip i have tried in adelaide. I like the service that you can tell them your chip either cook well done or under cook. The burger is also good and i like to order it with the half cook running egg.
