We had a sumptuous Sunday lunch at this fabulous country pub. Just ten minutes from the M62 off the A19 towards Doncaster, lies this historic Inn. A warm welcome from the friendly landlord and landlady started our feast. It is honestly one of the nicest Sunday dinners I have had at a pub. Really traditional and truly delicious. We both had pork (you can choose a large or a small portion) with wholegrain mustard mash, garlic and herb roasties, leak and bacon in cheese sauce (my favourite) and cabbage, with amazing Yorkshire puds and Gravy. Absolutely gorgeous. With drinks just £21.00. Gorgeous and cheap. Highly recommended.
Fantastic homemade Sunday lunch. Everything was perfect, there was even lamb on the menu which is unusual on a Sunday lunch. The staff are amazingly friendly and give a very personal touch to your dining experience. The food was beautiful, one of the best Sunday lunches we have had. Service time was good as well, if you want the personal touch matched with great food, good portions and friendly faces this is definitely the pub for you. I had three beef and a lamb Sunday roasts. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. This restaurant is perfect if you enjoy good conversations with friendly people and down-to-earth hosts. The only criticism I have is that the potatoes were not salty enough and had too much milk instead of butter. However, I understand that catering to a variety of tastes can be challenging. I will definitely be returning soon.
This was my second visit to the restaurant, and it was even better than the first. The atmosphere at this cozy country pub is very relaxed, and the service was not only pleasant but also efficient. They serve locally brewed beer and the food was well cooked. I highly recommend trying the specials options, as they could easily be found in a high-end restaurant at double the price. Called in on speck while out walking. Warm friendly welcome from all the staff and nothing too much trouble. Ended up staying longer than planned and had the Sunday roast. Really lovely food, great value for money. Cannot recommend this pub highly enough. Will definitely go back.
This is a lovely warm welcoming pub, extremely dog friendly, really nice home cooked Sunday lunch, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our 2 dogs, they had a real fuss made of them and were given water and treats! we will definitely be back
My cousin and I went for tea to this lovely pub. The staff were really friendly and inviting. They serve good, wholesome, home made food that is absolutely lovely and are very generous portions.
