Everyone should spend at least one night of their life in a Marriott Hotel! I got lucky with a steal-deal $87 rate for a luxurious room and king-sized bed. I live in the area and drive by this location all the time but could never afford it. Then the gods smiled on me : What’s not to like about a Marriott Courtyard? Nothing! This location in Portola Hills is one of the safest areas in South OC. Everything about this hotel is intelligently designed. Lots of free parking and easy access. I have nerve damage in both feet, which makes it difficult to get around. After a long day of flights on November 4th, 2019, I checked in and was warmly greeted by Kayln, who kindly arranged a first-floor room for me. While limping toward the ice machine, Frank Vasquez noticed and graciously offered to bring me ice. The following Tuesday, when I called the front desk to ask about the nearest ice machine, Kayln answered and mentioned that Frank would likely assist me. True to her word, Frank soon brought ice to my room again. The service here is consistently outstanding every time I visit. Additionally, Alex is hands down the best bartender I’ve encountered in my travels.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, their efforts can't make up for the poor condition of the rooms. I changed rooms once, so my experience was based on two different accommodations. Both rooms were dusty and had unpleasant odors, permeating everything from the furniture and bedding to the carpets, windows, curtains, and even the air conditioning units in the rooms and elevators. The bathrooms had stains and odors, the ceilings were low, the room layouts were peculiar, and the rooms themselves were quite small. I would not recommend this place.
Upon my arrival, I noticed that the sink was not properly cleaned, with food splatters still visible. The shower curtain had black stains, and the room's curtains were noticeably discolored with yellow. The alarm clock by the bed was also dusty. Furthermore, the room lacked soundproofing, which was disappointing. The front desk isn’t available around the clock to address concerns, which added to my frustrations. Overall, I feel this hotel does not meet basic cleanliness standards, leading me to question their adherence to CDC guidelines.

We’ve visited The Bistro Eat. Drink. Connect. several times and have only positive experiences. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive. The rooms are spotless and cozy. The lobby area is striking, especially when the bar is open again—unfortunately, it’s closed for now due to the pandemic. The pool is large and perfectly heated, and the jacuzzi is just right. We’ll definitely be returning!
Sheryl Frianeza made it remarkably easy to reserve 12 rooms for our guests attending my son's wedding. The front desk staff was both efficient and friendly. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I will certainly book rooms at this property again in the future when I have visitors. Thank you once again for making the process so straightforward for me!
We stayed here as part of a stay and play tournament. Staff was knowledgeable and polite. Rooms were clean and spacious. My only complaint the only mirror in the room was in the bathroom. When you have multiple people in the same room that makes it tricky. I would have loved a second sink and mirror outside of the bathroom.
The hotel is pleasant, clean, and staffed with friendly people. However, I was a bit disappointed that the in-room coffeemaker, which only provides two paper cups, didn't include any tea. While you can purchase a cup of Starbucks tea from The Bistro, there were no tea bags like Lipton available by the coffeemaker.
