I visited my daughter and son-in-law last week and on my request they had booked a table for us on black horse on Saturday night at 1 o'clock. we arrived shortly before the pm and all four of us stood in the bar where two were served. it wasn't busy. no one told us anything until the bar was clear and then one of the ladies looked at me and I said we booked a table in my name of my daughter and she saw the bookings and said oh yes, we had table assigned and pointed into another room. there was no greeting no smiling, so we met our way to the table and sat there. there were no menus on the table, so I stood up to find some and someone only made their way from the other room in the direction o...
yesterday visited the pub and sat in the garden area, which turned out to be the best. a burger and chips ordered and a grilled chicken salad. both meals were very disappointing to say that at least. the burger was small and dry, overboiled and the chips were not cooked inside, but soggy outside. there was no salat on the side or tomaten etc. in the burger only a small amount of cheese and black sticky jam. the chicken salad should have a mustard dress that was hard to find. cost both meals I think is expensive for what we get. I complained about them, especially the chips and the renter just said sad and would pass on the comments to the cook. I will not come back there definitiw.
We used to go to the Black Horse up until a couple of years ago...lockdown etc kept us in. However we went today on spec and we're amazed by the changes. So bright and clean and very welcoming. We found the menu to be very...comprehensive and prices very reasonable but we fancied a variation of an item on the menu which they were happy to do. It was just beautiful and I don't remember a pub lunch that we have enjoyed so much. Home made bread is lovely if you intend going and the beer perfect. We absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant. We just returned and had to write a review immediately. The atmosphere was lovely, relaxed, and welcoming. Every staff member we encountered was polite and friendly. The food was perfect, especially the chips. The brownie with custard was a delicious way to finish our meal. sees the menu online, but turned out it is not the same question whether I could have steak. no was the answer because the ones were broken .. had gammon instead, it was ok nothing special, i was far overcooked, not even asked...if everything was in order was only paid the bill, not very friendly, under average.
We had a wonderful Saturday evening meal starting with a spicy tomato soup and followed by Cromer dressed crab. The service was excellent and the top-notch ale, along with the friendly dogs being fussed over, made for a fantastic night.
Had an evening meal on a week night. Dining area was fairly quiet and nicely and cosy. Service was friendly and attentive. Food excellent! Chips lovely and recommend ribs. Good selection of drinks at bar.

after a walk through the schlösser and gumley for Sunday dinner. Sunday roasts were excellent, charming service, great beer, reasonable prices. highly recommended. will certainly visit again
