The menu, which was previously presented in an elegant two-page fold-out, is now reduced to a half-page, one-sided card that does not convey the same sense of fine dining. While the staff were friendly, they were not as attentive as in past years and didn’t make us feel special. In previous visits, we were always served some canapés after being seated, but this seems to have been eliminated. Although the food remains excellent in taste, all five of us at the table noticed that our meals were not hot enough. Splendid visit in every aspect. We arrived early for our reservation and were directed to the library where we were served drinks. The menu was à la carte but we were informed this is due to change in the next month or so. We had complementary canapés and warmed bread rolls whilst waiting for the first course and mini sweets to accompany the coffee at the end of the meal. Wonderful ambience, attentive staff, terrific comfortable venue, delicious food.
I had a delightful dining experience in a beautifully elegant setting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was enjoyable, well-presented, and reasonably priced for an à la carte menu. It was lovely to relax with a drink in either the main hall or the library, which felt reminiscent of Downton Abbey. While I came primarily for the food this time, I might have to return as I've heard they offer four-poster beds.
Well This is difficult. Arriving at the Blue Grill have been before) They had no record of our booking through OpenTable. As this was on a night when they were full Valentines) we were shocked. However after a 40 minute wait the brilliant staff had accommodated us and made a table ready for us. And as usual up to their high standards. So would we book again with the Blue Grill yes. Impressive building and architecture. Beautiful blue hall yet a bit cold in October, due to the size of the room. All food was fine apart from main course. Mixed starters for 2 were brilliant. Main course was slightly disappointing. Surf and turf. Lobsters were frozen, my friends steak was quite fatty and chips could of been a lot crispier. Desserts were lovely. Service was great.
I have visited the Blue Grill 3 times now, the service and atmosphere it impeccable as always. Slightly disappointed to note the menu has changed 6 weeks ago and has not been altered on the Opentable website, it meant that what myself and my partner had selected before our visit was no longer available. Still a lovely treat for anniversaries, special birthdays.
This is our third year of celebrating our special occasion here, although we were very lucky to get in as the booking through open table had failed and we managed to get a table half hour later than the failed booking. As of the other previous years the food was excellent and the staff outstanding. Thank you for making are special occasion very special again.
The restaurant was great, they even sorted us a table because open table didn’t inform them I had made a reservation. Will definitely be returning to the blue grill, the steak is amazing! Thanks Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We used this restaurant same date last year to which I gave an excellent review for venue, food and staff. I have not altered my opinion after this visit. Thank you for an excellent night
