The Blue Pig Tavern

I made a reservation on open table. When I got there they sat us out side. I hadn't requested outside seating so I was surprised and normally would have been thrilled except it was raining and humid and wet outside. My husband had the crab cakes. He said they were the best he ever had. But I had there vegan option which was two big pieces of egg plant charred. One was rubbery the other mushy. It also came with a tiny bit of tomato cucumber salad. That was good. “Upscale” restaurants always seem to miss the mark with a vegan dish. The service was great. We went to the Blue Pig for dinner mid-week. The ambience of the historic room where we were seated is charming, but it was so dark that several diners, including us, needed to use their phone flashlights to read the menu. The tables are very crowded, and the noise on our night was deafening. My husband and I couldn't comfortably carry on a conversation. Our food was not remarkable. My flounder was dry, as were the fingerling potatoes; only the small amount of crab-tomato sauce was delicious. Our waiter was solicitous, but he had a lot of tables to attend to, so he couldn't check on us very often. Overall, a disappointing experience.

The service was very good, our drinks were delicious, the beet salad was amazing, and the food was ok. The problem we had was that the restaurant was so dark, we could not read the menu without our flashlights. Further, we could not see our food when it arrived. We basically ate in the dark. There were areas of the restaurant that seemed to have better lighting, but our table was tucked in. We were disappointed that we could not see our food without a flashlight.

This was our first visit to the Blue Pig while staying at Congress Hall, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, and the service was both professional and friendly. If we had to mention a downside, it would be that the lighting was a bit too dim. We appreciate a nice ambiance, but everyone in the restaurant had to use their phones to read the menu. The manager on duty last night was unfit for their role and should be let go. We made multiple complaints about a loud and disruptive group of intoxicated women—three times, in fact! The manager's behavior was unprofessional and confrontational. Many diners were clearly disturbed by the noise, yet alcohol was still being served to that group.

Rarely do I encounter a 5 star place, but here, it happened. The place isn’t cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for here… from the service the setting to the food drinks, our experience was perfect. First time here, but certainly won’t be the last. *the $12 up-charge to add lobster to the mac ‘n cheese is absolutely worth it!

wait time for table an hour, after being told it will be 30 minutes. Then another 1h for food.... never seen such disrespect for guests of supposedly high end location. Shout out to our waiters for bringing fries for our 3 year old (that was starving and crying) ahead of rest of the food (that bumped my review from 1 start to 3)

The service was excellent. The roll of my lobster roll was burnt. Quality control would have prevented me from receiving a burnt lunch. I did not send it back because I did not want to deal with the fuss. My partner would have been eating their meal alone and so would I. We will not return. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

One meal, the short ribs, was quite good. However, the sea bass was served lukewarm. Fortunately, the issue was promptly addressed with excellent service. Unfortunately, the sauce didn't enhance the dish much. Additionally, the restaurant had a bit of a noisy atmosphere.

Appetizer ..deviled eggs..had an odd taste. Eggplant was good but nothing I would order again. Mussels average ..3 were not open Beef was very good. Not one of the better experiences . Been going there every year for past 9 years
