Came here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. We were initially seated outside on the patio. Our table was VERY wobbly. It should have been noticed and fixed before anybody was seated there. Moments after we were seated, a work truck pulled up and started running a generator almost right next to our table. As a result, we opted to go inside instead. I know staff has no control over that, it was just what pushed the situation over the edge. Once seated inside we were served relatively quickly. We ordered a cappuccino and a fresh OJ along with water. The waiter came back after about 5 minutes with our drinks and took our orders. The Cappuccino was decent and the OJ was excellent. Breakfast and Lunch for sure, but dinner?? Dinner service really bad tonight, specifically our waiter. Have come here for years. Love this place, but maybe not for dinner again if this waiter is working. Slow service from when not at all busy 20 min for water and initial greeting from wait staff, 40 min for drinks (not kidding), 50 min for app (calamari) and bread (asked for this 4times, finally got a busboy to handle it for us), after an hour we got our own drinks at the bar, the dinner came shortly after that. If you are resourceful and don't mind helping yourself a lot, you'll have a great night... Food was good as it has been in the past.
First off, I have to say that our server was great and we had no issues there. The Blue Pig Tavern has better esthetics than acoustics, unfortunately, and I was barely able to hear my family's conversation. The complimentary bread and mac and cheese appetizer were very good, but the entrees were rather underwhelming. While the flounder was good and appropriately warm, the tomato crab sauce underneath was cold, and the potatoes barely warmer.
Had a wonderful breakfast on the Veranda of the Blue Pig Tavern with our dog. I had the Blue Pig Tavern Skillet with regular coffee and my wife had the Sunrise Sandwich with a Latte. An old restaurant with a lot of charm, great atmosphere and great food. I have had multiple meals here, and I have yet to be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and so far the restaurant has always been a very quiet and relaxing place to enjoy a good meal.
Beautiful venue, classic and clean. The older feel doesn’t mean it’s worn. Upkept and classy! Caesar Salad was excellent. Short rib, broccoli and mashed potatoes were very tasty. Finished it off with Cheesecake! Would highly recommend, just be prepared with .
If you are in Cape May, check this place out! The service was Outstanding from the moment we walked in. Our server was fantastic and so polite. The food was delish. My family and I enjoyed our meal outside. It was a beautiful day.

Loud, disorganized, got 5 oysters instead of six , Parents who don’t know the words “inside voice”. Skip it.
