Hands down the best Restaurant in Cape May. My wife and I have sat down multiple times at just about every restaraunt in Cape May, from the Ugly Mug to Peter Shields. Our top picks: The Ebbitt Room, The Washington Inn, and Union Square (for their seafood), but The Blue Rose climbs well above the rest. The quality and detail to each entree is spectacular. If you're a foodie and attempting to utilize Yelp to find that hidden gem in Cape May, the Blue Rose is it. I would also like to mention the fine decor, which I don't often comment on, but at the Blue Rose it's worth noting. Very classy and very deserving of every dollar spent.
This is an excellent, clean, and well-furnished inn that welcomes dogs. The owners are very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. While they don’t serve breakfast, there is a dining area inside where you can enjoy whatever you bring back to the inn, and you can also relax on the porch. Our room was spacious and cleaned daily, so we never felt cramped. A nice bonus is the onsite parking; while it requires some juggling with other guests, it saved us the hassle of searching for parking multiple times each day.
The food is good and the waiters are professional. The portion sizes are extremely small for the price, but I suppose you get that at places like this. The one really cool thing I really liked about this place was after dinner. When we were waiting for the car, a door shook and flew open behind us and no one was there. Just a cool memory we'll always have! Haha!
My wife and I had dinner here on Christmas Eve, and we really enjoyed it. They had a fixed menu, but everything we had was amazing. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, even if he is a Giants fan (laugh out loud). We definitely plan to return to try the regular menu. And don't miss out on the scallops—they're fantastic! We had a fantastic dinner here last year. The portion sizes were just right, and the staff was very professional. We were celebrating a birthday, and they brought out a special dessert for the birthday celebrant. We sat on the deck, enjoying a lovely evening. We're disappointed to find that it is closed this year.
The food was outstanding and incredibly creative. The service was attentive and provided plenty of helpful information. The owner was approachable and genuinely nice, especially considering how remarkable this establishment is.
This place is a hidden gem! As a foodie, I often find myself drawn to Cape May, and this restaurant has now become a must-visit on my list.
