When the food arrived, the pinwheels turned out to be the highlight of our meal. Unfortunately, the Paducah Pesto Chicken sandwich was lackluster. It came on an over-toasted baguette, and the overall flavor and texture were disappointing. The sandwich was made with diced chicken, pesto, red peppers, and cheese, which failed to deliver the juicy goodness of a fresh chicken breast. I also overlooked the fact that the menu stated the sandwiches came with kettle chips, and my server didn’t ask if I’d prefer to substitute fries or a salad. I met a friend at this restaurant to enjoy the end of happy hour (Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 5 PM). We took advantage of some great specials, including $5 house red and white wine, and an $8.50 two-topping pizza. We also ordered a basket of fries for just $5.50. There’s plenty of parking right in front of the new building. Inside, it’s incredibly cozy—it's hard to describe, but it feels like a rustic yet sleek barn house lounge with a touch of southern charm, complete with plenty of couches to kick back and relax. We visited this restaurant twice and had the same server/bartender on both occasions. Unfortunately, he initially ignored us and was quite rude when we asked for his opinion, making it clear that he was bothered by our presence. The food was good during our first visit. However, after the poor treatment we received during our second visit, we chose not to stay. We live nearby and had hoped this would become a go-to spot for us, but unfortunately, we won't be returning. Additionally, the live music was excessively loud, making it difficult to have conversations. Overall, I would rate the food a 4, the service a 1, and the atmosphere a 2.
We really enjoy their pizza dough! There aren't many dining options in Candelas (for reasons unknown), but their pizza is more affordable than the one at Freedom Street and it tastes great! We've ordered takeout there twice in the past week. The staff was excellent during our first visit, but during the second, they seemed to be more than likely under the influence (though that’s still a fair assessment). We have dined at this restaurant several times before, but this was our first Thursday visit. The live music was quite loud, but we found it enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service was rather slow; it took quite a while for us to receive both drinks and food, and I wasn't even asked if I wanted a drink. I've had delicious meals here in the past, but tonight’s dish was just average. We ordered one with red sauce, but I believe the dishes with white sauce are superior. I think everything would taste even better if it were cooked a little longer.
I had a business meeting that required catering options suitable for everyone. The Bluegrass turned out to be the perfect choice. Everything we ordered was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely return to the restaurant and place orders with them again.
This restaurant serves amazing avocado toast, and the Kentucky coffee was excellent. It's genuinely a hidden gem. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was very laid-back.
