Recently went there before a night at the Heath Ledger Theatre for a performance from the Black Swan State Theatre Company. Enthusiastic male waiter asked how we were, where we were going and reminded us to show our tickets for a 15% discount. Ms FFFT (fave friend, fellow traveller) was happy at the range of vegetarian options, we ended up with an arancini salad - generous serve, yummy - and pizza - again, yummy. The not-so-good: female waiter put a bottle of water on 2 other tables, came to ask for our drinks order. We didn't get a bottle of water - is that because we DIDN'T order anything alcoholic? Then at the end, when we showed the theatre tickets, female staff member looked at us blan...
Not very good to be honest. Basically no customer service even though the 3 ladies behind the counter had nothing to do besides chat to themselves for the first 10 minutes. Upon asking about the advertised monday night special, one of these lovely ladies snapped back and said it was finished, before storming out the bar and tearing the poster down. Charming. I mean its attached to the Brass Monkey so I wasn't expecting 10/10 service but they are obviously trying to expand their marketability into a more sit down restaurant but this was just a bad experience, and we hadn't even ordered yet. Reasonable bistro/pub food adjoining the Brass Monkey. Generously sized portions - fetta and roast pumpkin salad was fine; vegetarian nachos unfortunately had quite a few corn chips burned under a grill which detracted. Arrogant Frog rosé pleasant and dry. The best thing about it was it was open on New Years Day when the rest of Northbridge looked like Melbourne when they filmed On the Beach...for those of a certain age.

This review is for the Patriot Sports Bar section of the Brass Monkey. It was one of the only bars open after midnight, and it was an absolute delight. Not overcrowded and loud, we could easily have a conversation with a drink and some nicely done American Style food. Good variety of craft beers and not expensive at all. Would recommend it if you want to go to a proper grown-ups bar in Northbridge .
Brass Monkey -The mens toilets REEKED of stale urine, it hit you as you walked in the door of the loo. Maybe clean them more than once a day use some bleach to neutralise the odors? Shouldnt be having to tell them things like this.
Patriot Sports Bar - Great American style food- loved it- service was very good too- would go again.
Mondays to Fridays are cheap meal nights! YAY. I tried this last night and enjoyed it! I had the fish and salad which was nice enough and my mate had the parmy which looked yum! So nice to see a healthy option available on $15 night! Ill be back!

Inedible food and slow kitchen.
Waited 40 Mins just for 2 bowls of chips a salad and spring rolls. The items did not all come out at the same time.. Salmon salad was pathetic and inedible.
If you are also a fan of table service that moves at the speed of a glacier then this is the place for you.
Was in town and had a meal at grapeskin - wine list was nice - only one pasta dish on the menu - I had the steak and at best ok a little tough. Having said that a pretty good vibe - hopefully better next time
