We decided to try British Bobby after being unsatisfied with other Fish 'n' Chips at various other places in Qualicum & Parksville. FABULOUS choice and so glad we did. The batter is crisp and NOT thick and greasy AT ALL.... and the home fries were the best. We picked up the order as a TAKE OUT and the order was very well wrapped and placed in a handled brown take out bag. When we got home the order was still HOT and FRESH and not soggy. Very impressive ! Being from England I think we expect a certain standard in fish 'n' chips and they certainly didn't disappoint at all. We would HIGHLY recommend British Bobby and will always come back for more !!
Everything is made to order, so be patient. It's fresh and worth it! And if you have to wait, ..this place is a like visiting a museum of British memorabilia from days gone by, ..so much fun, I have family born in England and they gave their thumbs up on the authentic food that brought memories and perhaps a longing for the motherland! The service is friendly, the food is delicious, the place is amazing just to visit!! If you are looking for a different atmosphere and food you won't find on many menus, try this restaurant!
four of us went to dinner at 7 minutes to 8. They close at 8 but were really friendly and attentive. Served by a young Bobby and the food was very good. I had a meat pie that was excellent and others had Halibut and chips which were so good that we went back twice in the next 3 days. Lunch special of Cod and chips for $8 was very good and Halibut was still very good . Decor is extreme British and really neat.
This place was recommended by friends who raved over the fish and chips. They did live up to their review. We had the halibut but there is also cod and haddock. Wanted one more hit of halibut & chips before leaving the island. Bobby's did not disappoint. Excellent batter on the hali & bottomless chips. Never a dull moment as the walls are covered in English memorabilia. Not speedy but great food never is.
Wonderful meal, fabulous service. everyone is so friendly. They accommodated us as it was close to closing and we came in late. Such great food. Reminded me of my home. Conversation was wonderful as I was allowed to reminisce on the dishes served.
Nice decor and service. Had fish and chips . The fish was a bit greasy. The chips were mostly overcooked end bits and not the chunkier chips as in the UK. The food was hot and well priced but I would not choose that dish again.

Dinner with everyone having halibut fish and chips, the best in Oceanside Service as always, was attentive and prompt.
