During our recent stay in the area for a medical treatment, we found the hotel restaurant to be too expensive for our budget and the food was not great, so we decided to try out this pub for a change. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, so much so that we returned the following night for another meal. The drinks were reasonably priced and they had a great selection. The staff were excellent, friendly, and welcoming. The food was also delicious - we tried the burger one night and the fish and chips the next, both were a good size and very tasty, fitting into the category of good pub grub. This village pub is incredibly welcoming with a friendly atmosphere. The staff and regulars are all very pleasant. The prices for beer and other drinks are reasonable. The open mic night may not have been the best quality, but it was still a fun experience. They are dog friendly, which is a plus. The food is top-notch, especially the curry which they rightfully take pride in.
