Thank goodness I know the area as finding and parking is fun!! That said the ambiance is terrific the staff very welcoming and the food superb. A finer cut of beef would be hard to find, and that it hadn't come far a testament to Mr Grumpy and his herd of cattle. Mrs Grumpy has a herd of goats and from them beautiful cheese products. I would definitely recommend to anyone if you've not tried, and in Winter a log fire is most welcoming.
what an experience worth driving on the farm stretch. the beer on the hand train was an excellent drink brewed on the farm, because of the ride not the chance to taste the others, next time. we had steaks and cakes of the day, steak and mushroom, both were cooked to perfection and the gravitation was to die. we all made a pudding and it was right rib sticking, beautiful. it was our first visit, but did not definitiw our last.
visited the birthday of a friend and we all had a wonderful time. the service was fantastic, there was a large group of us and every employee who served us was friendly and made us welcome. the environment is great; the restaurant is located in a quiet, with heating through and is rustic and intimate. the meat was excellent and perfectly cooked. reasonable price for eating and drinks.
five stars are not close enough for this place. we had a 16oz T-Bone steak that was cooked to perfection. if they have a room after that, they must try the shottle mess absolutely fantastic space with really friendly staff. it is worth the trip and we will definitely do it again. steve and sue Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Well worth the drive to this quirky little establishment. It has a rustic charm, cozy and warm with the log burner and friendly owner and staff. We’ve been to Miller and Carter and other steak houses and this blinds them all. Will deffo recommend and visit again.
We went in July and had the Rump steak, so tasty and tender, we even managed pudding but we was stuffed afterwards : The real ale brewed there was too moreish: very friendly and definitely an enjoyable experience, will definitely go back!!

Fine dining it's not (thank goodness). Great food, beer, atmosphere and staff. Reminded me of a rustic, family run restaurant in France; done with a passion, Great.
