This unique traditional pub was a pleasant surprise we discovered during a family outing. Despite the dreary weather, the warm fires and friendly atmosphere made our day. The owner greeted us warmly and the staff provided charming and attentive service. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, with the added bonus of a local cider on tap that we thoroughly enjoyed. We have since returned multiple times as this has become one of our favorite places to dine.
What a fantastic pub ! Stayed with family on holiday in the village and eat here 3 nights . It’s an ancient and characterful place with a really interesting history . All the staff were welcoming and friendly: as was the overall atmosphere.. Good range...
Visited for food whilst on a holiday break. Found venue online and noticed no prices on menu but still took a chance. Very basic menu and not heated up enough! Pricey for what was on offer. Ordered burger and veg curry. Definitely wouldn’t go back.

First visited on a cold winters day. It doesn’t look much from the outside but the young lady serving was friendly and the bar area had the fire roaring so this made a lovely welcome. So many pubs are cold and uninviting. Food was excellent....
Had better from a road side cafe. Below average fast food, served with a mountain of salad to make it look better than it is. Overall overpriced and tastless with a limited main meal choice. Even the a simple ham sandwidge had grey ham on...

We we’re staying at a local cottage very close by. This is a lovely nice old cosy smugglers pub. Lovely food and local Beers/ciders. Staff very friendly, warm wood burner.
