"I've had a great experience with the food here so far. I've only visited twice, and both times I ordered the Betty Down Home chicken sandwich with fries. The only difference between the two visits was how the spicy honey was served: once it was drizzled directly on the sandwich and the other time it was provided on the side. I actually prefer it on the side since it prevents the bun from getting soggy. I’m definitely planning to return and try other items on the menu."

The Cannery Kitchen Tap restaurant in Castro Valley is a gem of a spot for great food and an enjoyable dining experience. Their menu features a variety of dishes, including the popular Betty's Down Home Chicken and Diestel Turkey sandwich, both of which are worth trying.Betty's Down Home Chicken is a delicious and hearty dish, featuring a crispy fried chicken breast served with coleslaw and sriracha aioli, and a side of fries or chips. The chicken is perfectly cooked, with a crispy and golden crust that gives way to tender and juicy meat inside. The Diestel Turkey sandwich with garlic aioli sauce is another standout option, with a fresh avocado that holds together a generous serving of slice...

Within the Castro Valley Marketplace (different from the Chabot Public Market), this is a quaint place for lunch and to just hang out for a chat with food. For a brunch, lunch, snack or dinner, there's a little something that works for every meal. Ambiance wise, it's very laid back and chill with inside and outside seating (heat lamps available). It's not a big place and will be a bit of a wait when it's busy, the line to order does take a little bit when that does happen. My go to thing to get here is the East Bay nicoise salad. I really enjoy the mustard dressing (on the side) with the ahi tuna and bacon; this is a great salad in my opinion has it has a little bit of everything. The perfec...

business owner privately messaged asking for review to be removed I received a response from the business owner about my review asking me to take it down because it was harmful. Rather than respond publicly here so everyone would be able to see my interaction with the business owner, Debbie, she felt the need for a vaguely threatening private message that failed to address my concerns about food, seating and staff. Rather she only addressed my comment about the coffee with cops event. She gave a diatribe about her personal beliefs (I have ______ friends) so stated that the coffee with cops event wasn't reflective of her personal beliefs. If that's true, good for you Debbie, however as long a...

The Cannery Kitchen and Tap is a vibrant spot located in the Castro Valley Marketplace, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. They have an impressive breakfast and brunch menu. We ordered The Tucker, which features poached eggs and salmon on biscuits, The Boulevard with poached eggs on chickpea cake, and Betty's Down Home burger, a buttermilk fried chicken burger. While the food was enjoyable, the poached eggs were not as runny as expected and had more of a boiled egg texture. The hollandaise sauce, however, was quite good. My friend particularly enjoyed the fried chicken burger and the smoked salmon. After brunch or lunch, you can explore the marketplace and take a short drive (about 8-... Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I’m very disappointed. We used to love The Cannery when it was in Hayward. Today, I visited their Castro Valley location for the first time and ordered my usual ham breakfast sandwich. Unfortunately, the bread was completely overcooked, hard, and soaked in butter. I had to take off the bread and use a napkin to clean my plate and dab the ham and egg just so I could cut into them to eat. Additionally, the cashier was extremely slow and seemed more focused on other tasks than attending to the customers in line. Overall, it was a letdown. However, I plan to give it one more try, hoping this was just an off day for the staff.

Before they were at the cache Valley location, we were eating there for breakfast at their Hayward location. Food has always been amazing both locations. We've never really had a problem with service because they don't have servers you order take a number and sit down, which I feel like more businesses should do because the quality of servers is so shitty. This location is a little bit different from where they were located before, I really liked that they had indoor outdoor seating, I guess there's a grocery store that I'll definitely have to check out next time we come.

We had our dog with us and needed a place where we could get yummy food and sit outside by the heat lamps and this was a great choice! My partner and I split the Cubano sandwich with fries and the beet and arugula salad. The sandwich was excellent and the salad was ok but it was a great balance to the sandwich. The fries were delicious with ketchup. They must have been double fried to be so crispy.I had an IPA that I enjoyed. Service was great and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely try this place again when we pass through Castro Valley

I have eaten there more than a dozen times so far. The food is good. There are plenty of inside and outside eating areas. Weekends they have outside food vendor set ups on the patio. There's a grocery store connected to the cannery kitchen where you can buy fresh deli foods, such as lasagna, soup, salads, etc. You can order food from the cannery kitchen, deli food from inside of the grocery store, a pho restaurant, and other restaurants that share this long cement covered patio. Friday nights and some weekends they have live music.
