My parents had gifted me a bed breakfast dinner stay for my 30th birthday . I had booked to stay in the hotel on Sunday the 11th of December past , we had dinner booked in the restaurant . ,which is when our stay went down hill . A group of 6 of us had dinner last night in the Causerie restaurant at Europa Hotel, Belfast. We booked the pre-theatre menu (two courses for £25 including a drink) over the phone two weeks ago. When we arrived we were told that this menu was no longer available but no apology was given. Several other tables were also surprised when they learned this too. I was then told that we could not order cocktails because they could not guarantee how long they would take to arrive. Bit of a mixed review... the food was lovely, parfait nice and light and thai green curry was delicious. I asked if I could have my main with half chips/half rice and No was the answer very strange for a restaurant not to cater to a diners simple request and I am sure I am not the first diner to request this. We booked dinner well in advance for a special birthday and asked to be seated in a nice area by the window, this did not happen, and we had a seat in a corner by a windy window. My partner and I recently had a meal at this restaurant and the food was outstanding! My partner is a picky eater, so I was concerned about the menu options, but she enjoyed her dish so much that she finished every bite. I ordered the Chicken Supreme, which was tender and delicious. The only small issue I had was that the vegetables were slightly undercooked for my taste, but this is just a personal preference and doesn't affect my overall review. The service was exceptional, especially Miriam who went out of her way to bring us a cocktail menu from another part of the hotel and made sure our evening was perfect. Thank you!

Visited causerie recently and while the food was nice enough, one particular waiter was so rude when we queried the bill! The waitress had not fully explained the pre theatre menu if not drinking alcohol and we were under the impression we were getting a deal with a soft drink instead as we had done so in October 2021! When we politely queried the bill, the waiter was so rude to us. We were going to opera house after and it definitely put a dampner on it! So many more nicer restaurants in Belfast to spend your money with a nicer atmosphere and more professional staff!
I went to this restaurant on Saturday for a meal with a young friend. We both ordered steak sandwiches with hand-cut chips. The steak was served cold and the chips were just barely cooked. The waiter kindly offered to reheat the steak, but I declined. It was an expensive and disappointing meal. However, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lively.
My husband had never eaten here before but was really impressed just as I was. Themanager Steven whom I have met before at the restaurant was just amazing. My husband was extremely impressed by his attentiveness and advice on food dishes and that of the wine to complement the food. Very reasonably priced. Great service and staff. We will definitely return.
All 5 of us had amazing food and the service was very friendly. The parsnip and chestnut soup was delicious. I had turkey and ham and it was the nicest Christmas dinner I have ever had. The baked alaska dessert was fabulous. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I would highly recommend dining here.

Great pre theatre menu. £25 two course and glass of wine. Food is very well presented and tasted amazing. Unfortunately the restaurant staff that were there were unfriendly and a little unprofessional in their manner. A lot of hovering and quite impatient. Food fantastic tho. Great chef.
