This place was FANTASTIC!!! We were from out of town and were traveling on 4th of July. We had planned to go somewhere else entirely, but they were closed. We are SO SO happy it worked out that way. The food was delicious. We had Wellington Bites as a starter. Only complaint is that the two of us had to split the 5th one. It was fantastic! For entrees my wife had the House Made Gnocchi and I had the Chicken Ballotine. Both phenomenal. DO NOT PASS on the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert!!!!! This was my first time eating at The Chalkboard restaurant and I was very impressed. I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food itself reminds me of Gordon Ramsey's signature dishes: Lamb Lollipops, Beef Wellington, Sticky Toffee Pudding, ECT. But the food was delicious and beautifully plated. The atmosphere is dimly lit with a dark grey color themed and notes of gold ascent pieces. A smell of a sweet scented wood fireplace comes through as soon as you walk into the front door. The decoration and style of the restaurant is very unique with a romantic vibe. The restaurant is more on the pricey side but for the quality of the food and atmosphere, I think it's worth the experience.
At first we were disappointed by the late night menu but thankfully we stayed! Kevin gave great service and was very funny. Chef: Christian) The taste of the food was very flavorful and mouth watering that it was what made up for the more limited menu. We also enjoyed the filling of the establishment, more rustic, dim, and comfortable. we did not attend the bar, but it did sound lively and the drinks we did order were good Overall excellent experience and can’t wait to go back and try a full menu. In the many years that I have dined at the Chalkboard never had a bad meal until tonight. I ordered a strip steak medium rare. This is a simple protein to cook, 2 to 3 minutes then flip for 2 more minutes season and serve. What I got appeared and tasted like a prime rib. To my surprise this once beautiful cut of meat was sliced right after cooking. All the juices were underneath the steak. It also was cooked closer to medium well than medium rare. I know they changed ownership. Please hire someone that can cook a steak.

The Chalkboard is a unique centerpiece of Tulsa. The historic background with the modern flare of the restaurant unifies a unique ambience to the setting. The Chalkboard qualifies as a truly exquisite experience as it speaks to an old world taste combine with a fresh modern flare. Our server, Kevin, was extremely knowledgeable and offered the best choices when it came to the selection and service.
We had a wonderful experience here over a year ago, so my daughter was excited to try their beef Wellington for her birthday. Unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. All five beef Wellingtons were overcooked and lacked flavor, making them not worth the price. The orzo and asparagus were bland as well. The only dish that was enjoyable was the pecan salad.
This is one of the places we always go when we are in Tulsa. The atmosphere is cozy, perfect for date night. The bar is excellent with outstanding craft cocktails. The food is always fabulous. Get the lamb lollipops for an appetizer, they are so good.
Natalie is an amazing bartender! We actually stay at the Ambassador Marriott in Tulsa so we can go down to The Chalkboard have her make a us drink! She is a true talent mixologist! She is also compassionate kind!
