We attempted to order drinks at the front of the pub, but were greeted by the hostess' two energetic dachshunds, causing a spill on the way back to our table. Despite explaining our situation regarding our reactive dog, the hostess insisted that her dogs had free rein. She suggested that our dogs would be cooler inside, but we preferred to stay outside in the shade. When we inquired about eating our pre-booked meal at one of the tables in front of the pub, we were denied due to the potential rowdiness. Feeling puzzled by our experience, we followed the advice of fellow campers and visited another dog-friendly pub nearby. We were impressed by the warm welcome, atmosphere, and delicious food....
a perfect village country pub. we were in the chequers inn on one of their five campers van and caravan parking places. the stalls are good with kiesal, bark parking and a surface of gras with picnic table for every parking space. Each has an electrical connection, and there is water for drinking and wastewater/chemical disposal. toilets are located at the rear end of pubs and remain open all night. there are no showers, but we knew this in advance so knew what to expect (book about the pitch-up website). what makes the stay so wonderful is the pub, the local villagers and the greetings given by everyone. Eating and drinking is first-class (preordered dinner before arrival) and a cozy evenin...
What a wonderful experience this place was, we were booked on the site behind the pub with a group of fantastic friends . The people running the pub and site could not have been more welcoming. The food on both nights was fantastic and as the previous pictures show, please remember though to order in time it's worth it. Lovely inside and brilliant beer garden. Would highly recommend a stop here both caravans and motorhomes are welcome and only 10 minutes from the M1 for peace and quiet
on the residential complex (irondale) located in the pubs, which was very good. the chequers is a village pub, but everyone is friendly. good beer, had no eating, but it looked out and melt amazing. will certainly use the caravan site and pub again.
What can I say? this small alcohol is great, very friendly, beautiful selection of beer, beautiful decoration, outside sitting area is beautiful and spacious. ian sue is very welcoming. also love ken
