If you wanna go to a restaurant and have the most wonderful experience in your life, you need to go to Chequers of Orwell. The food is above Michelin star quality, surprises me it has no Michelin star yet. The chef David makes magic. I have always enjoyed this place and I go whenever I can. I recommend everybody visiting at least once because writing down is not even near the tasty experience. Ah and did I mention the dessert? The chocolate fondant is something unimaginable... the best dessert I ever had by far. The staff are always prompt to help and are courteous too. The only complaint is the lack of Chequers worldwide! I wish I could eat there everyday of my life.
I had thought about the bun and was seriously impressed by the quality of the plump chicken breast. the meat was tender and moist, supplemented by a large roasted carrot and cartoffel with a lauch and ducketts caerphilly cheese. the creamy sauce with full-grained scab went with the chicken and sweet really well. we ordered a fresh mixed salad as a side order and it was great enough that we could both share. the dessert menu was to tantalize to go up and we were glad that we did not say that the desserts were spectacular to put it mild. they were almost too nice to eat!
What a find! The Chequers just happened to be en route at lunch time on my weekly bike tour day so it was my lucky day. From my call to book, my call to say I was running late to leaving fully sated, all I heard was extremely friendly and welcoming from all staff and fellow patrons. The food and beer was excellent too and clearly the place is very well maintained with extremely comfortable chairs!
after a long day of stockport we all moved to chequers to dinner I had the thai oriental peppered beef with extra prawns absolutely the best thai meal I have ever eaten and the pecan tart with Ice-cream just finished it. jasmine the waitress who had a big know about all the menus and the choice of the meals made easy I could go to all 4 who dined there on Saturday everyone there were 5 stars Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
on Saturday I booked a table for a family dinner for very large group of 16 people, 2 babys a dog from the first booking (I have with the very beautiful tina) directly through the meal I found the communication service to be absolutely perfect. tina her team runs here an amazing pub that was standard of food and the service of the employees was excellent. Thank you, we're coming back!
visited jun2021 after a 10 miles walk. looked outside in a magnificent evening sun. beer well kept, good fresh taste to the real ale. two cursor meal was excellent. tempura broken squid was cooked to the exquisite perfection, chips made spot on. cappucino brulée was luxurious, full of taste and real size. the pub relatiw was busy for a locked Wednesday night.
Had a 3 course meal in the chequers today temporary prawns for starters roast pork for main and peacan tart and ice cream for dessert all food served was very tasty and veg cooked to perfection . Great staff and stunning pub. Well done to the cooks and staff we had a great meal. And nice drive out from Hertfordshire
Visited there this Saturday. I had the Thai chicken with three spices.blew my taste by, the combination was the best I have experienced. Booked an evening meal here whilst visiting the Duxford Air Show based on the reviews of others. A very warm welcome from Jasmin, good menu choice, reasonably priced, delicious food. Would highly recommend.
