If you could do a minus star for food I would. We waited an hour for our starters which was a disappointment to say the least, the nachos seemed microwaved the “melted cheese” was like plastic, not even a knife would cut through had better ones at the cinema which says it all, mussels that were so dry and tasted burnt (who is cooking this food). Fast forward another hour later and the mains arrived with no apology for the wait or update on the food. We ordered 4 rare-medium sirloin steaks all of which were well done plus a sad portion of 5 chips on the side (what’s even the point) and one gammon that was tougher than an old boot. We sent everything back of course and only got the mains taken...
It’s disappointing that the restaurant can create incredible dishes for non-vegans but doesn’t put in the effort to prepare delicious vegan meals. Perhaps the chef could benefit from some research on how to make flavorful dishes, as it’s clear they’re falling short in that area. I felt it was a complete waste of money, and I was extremely disappointed.
For context, nothing I've experienced compares to "Down the Hatch," an outstanding vegan bar and restaurant in Liverpool. Hey guys. We booked on the go with you and we are sooooo happy you had a table free. Never been here for food in the past and now we’re asking ourselves why not. Friendly staff Good atmosphere Great food Having said all that the staff made it for me. I ordered another beer and whilst eating (I ordered a Stella by mistake as I thought it was what I was drinking) The young lad came back to check as he’d spotted that I had a moretti! Without a doubt, the worst service I've ever experienced. I've been here twice before, and it was fine. However, tonight we waited an incredibly long time for everything. At the end of our main courses, we asked for a dessert menu and were given just one menu to share among four of us. We waited half an hour with no sign of a waitress. When she finally arrived, we learned that they had stopped serving desserts, and we couldn't place an order. The table next to us had a similar experience. Absolutely disappointing.

I stopped by for a light lunch and found the place to be not too busy and really welcoming. The food was great, and I would say the price per person is around £20–30. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas!

I had a great experience, but the spicy chicken strips and the kids' nuggets were slightly overcooked. I didn’t want to complain, as I’m too polite for that. Everything else was excellent!
lovely pub with good food and friendly service. a versatile venue that do romantic meals, family get togethers and celebrations. great range of drinks esp gins and well kept real ales
