This is an updated review post-Covid; I recently had another fantastic meal at this restaurant. Despite it being a quiet dining experience, the service remains exceptional. The tables are well spaced for safety, with intentional measures in place by the staff. I had another amazing meal to end the year on a high note. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the prices were reasonable. I had a family meal here and while the dishes weren't extremely spicy, they were still flavorful. The Indian cuisine is excellent and reasonably priced, with friendly staff providing good service. It's a small place, but it serves some of the best Indian food in the area.
The food at this restaurant was excellent and so was the service. I highly recommend it. The overall atmosphere was also top-notch. If you're looking for a great place to dine in for dinner, this is it. The price per person ranges from £30 to £40. Food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect 5-star rating.
The food was fantastic, but the atmosphere was lacking a bit, possibly due to being the only diners at that time due to the weather. We did see a few friends, mostly walking their dogs, pass by. There were plenty of vegetarian options available as expected. The service was good. We dined in for dinner.
Absolutely fabulous. Been going here for 5 years and never been disappointed with any meal we have had there. The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Highly recommend

Had some food here last night, it was some of the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. Also the it had a great atmosphere and the fellas working there were brilliant. I’ll be coming back
Whenever I visit Penarth from London to see my friends, I always make sure we go to Clay Pit. The food there is absolutely amazing. It's the best curry I have ever had!
first visit in the tongrube, excellent food service. the workers are so welcoming and the ton pit mixed plate was exceptional: we cannot wait to visit again. 10/10
