We enjoy visiting Coffee Clubs and as VIP members we visit all our locals regularly. Decided to visit the Caneland Mackay cafe for our breakfast after an overnight stopover. At first service was pleasant and prompt, easily found a table and were clear in placing our order. I received my Large Takeaway coffee in a mug. I explained when I ordered that I tend to nurse my coffees and wanted to take it with me. I received a very soft cooked poached egg when I asked for hard poached/well cooked. My son didn’t received his breakfast at all. I mentioned the coffee when it was delivered but decided to just keep it as is. As someone who really enjoys coffee club as a business, I feel that every time I give this place a chance I regret it straight away. I have had to get up and walk out after being looked at by 5 different staff and not one came over to serve me or even check on me (this is the full table service restaurant), I’ve been given hot iced coffee and dirty cutlery and undercooked meat and every time I wish to order a second drink it’s a hell of a task trying to track down one of the lazy staff members.. I’ll go in town next time instead
I have eaten at this restaurant a few times while visiting Mackay. The food is consistently good and served promptly. I have always struggled to get a soft egg elsewhere, but here they are consistent and I always get what I ask for. The service is good and the staff are very pleasant. I will definitely continue to visit this establishment. One suggestion is that they update their opening times on Google, as it currently says they open at 7am when they actually open at 8:30am. This may have changed due to COVID restrictions.
I went to this restaurant for breakfast and decided to try the bruschetta from the menu. I was disappointed when it arrived as it was just a plain slice of white toast instead of the expected sourdough bread with toppings. I even took a photo to prove it. The halloumi I ordered was also overly salty and greasy, tasting like it had been fried in butter. Overall, the food was not up to par and the portion sizes were small. I would recommend improving the quality and accuracy of the menu descriptions.

We arrived in Mackay and our host took us straight to the coffee club at Canelands. It was a welcome respite to the shock of the heat. The place was busy but food came quickly, but had to wait for drinks. 2 out of three drinks were wrong. Ordered a grapefruit soda and cold a cold drip coffee ice tea with grapefruit that was quite awful. Waitress quickly changed them. Staff were friendly enough. Sourdough toast with avocado and haloumi was fresh and nice. A huge restaurant with in and out seating.
I had my parents visit for the weekend and I took them out for breakfast to The Coffee Club at Canelands on the riverfront side. The staff were pleasant and very friendly, due to having food requirements they catered my breakfast to what I cook only have and my parents ordered from the menu and were very happy. Coffee was great too! :
Had lunch at the Caneland outlet opposite the bookshop. Staff were really friendly and we weren’t kept waiting long for our food. The food itself was great and the coffee excellent. Great place for a quality bite when doing your shopping
Just had coffee and toastie at Mackay CC. waitress very blunt not polite. Toastie delivered with no avo and 8 chips. Very disappointing all round both waitress and food. Advised them on departure with no interest. Need to do better

We stopped by for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the great service from the staff. The food was delicious and served quickly. We were pleased to find that the dishes were both filling and prepared with fresh ingredients.
We dined at both coffee clubs in the shopping centre. We liked this one the best. We had lovely service and great quality meals. The breeze was lovely sitting outside too.
