My twin brother Stephen and I were wandering around the wonderful area around Bridge Street and on a chilly Thursday morning decided to drop into Coffee Mill and what a great find . Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a light and airy interior, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe,a cool place to unwind in. We ordered a cappuccino coffee each and a custard cake,coffee was served pipping hot and custard cakes served cold ,just perfect ,we just kicked back,chilled out and took in the great cafe we were in. Positives: nice decor and friendly staff. Scottish breakfast tasted nice. Negatives. No kids menu so ordered beans and cheese on toast and just beans on toast for a 9 and 3 year old. Arrived as one slice of toast and half a can of beans each with one slice of cheese on one. Both cost the same even though we asked for a kids portion. So for £17.90 we got 2 slices of bread, a tin of beans and one cheese slice. Bizarre price tag for what you got you would expect a decent main meal in a restaurant for that. However nice experience, just possible needs price review on some of the menu items and possible a kids version.
Lunch today, food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Friendly efficient service and very tasteful surroundings. We will be back. Recommend the Welsh rarebit, served with salad and delicious home made coleslaw.
