The food here is woeful and overpriced. The Sydney Opera House Trust recently brought in this operator after terminating its contract with the Cafe Studio—always an excellent place to eat before a concert. We have just tried the new incumbent, but never again. My wife and I each ordered a meagre dish of meatballs (with two uneatable, rock-solid lumps of bread) and a beetroot salad. The meal included two glasses of wine and a coffee. This cost $94. My wife’s coffee came in a paper cup (the “only way” they serve large cappuccinos); no wineglasses are available—wine (including white) is served in tumblers; and quite unapologetically, they don’t serve decaf coffee. For some time we have eaten at the predecessor of ‘The Corner House at The House’ prior Opera House theatre but that venue has now changed hands and name. We used to enjoy our meals as a group but were sadly let down last night. Whilst convenient to the theatres and having great views over the Harbour Bridge and water, this café is a great failure on our reckoning. The menu is very limited and portions small, a la tapas, yet very pricey. Wines likewise. We used to dine at "The Corner House at the House" near the theater for some time, but the restaurant has now changed ownership and name. We used to enjoy our meals there as a group, but we were disappointed last night. Despite its convenient location near the theater with a great view of the Harbour Bridge and water, this cafe did not meet our expectations. Dining at this restaurant is a pleasant experience but is quite expensive. The Sydney Opera House recently changed operators after their contract with the previous cafe ended. We dined at this restaurant and it was very disappointing. Despite its convenient location in front of the theater, we will not be returning. The food and drinks were overpriced, with a beer priced at $8.50. One dish, an aubergine and bean casserole, was acceptable, but the others were mostly disappointing. Particularly bad was the lamb dish, which was overcooked and had gummy pasta. Our friends ordered a gourmet sandwich platter from a different section of the bar on the same night and enjoyed a similar view for a much lower price.

We had a pre dinner meal here and it was most disappointing. Despite the convenience right in front of theatre we will not use it again. Food and drinks overpriced, $8.50 for a beer. One dish was acceptable an eggplant, beans casserole but other mostly inedible. It was a lamb dish that was mostly very undercooked , rubbery pasta. Friends on the same night took the gourmet sandwich pack from another section of the bar, enjoyed same view for a fraction of the price.

There is no getting away from it.this is a pricy place to eat But the food is worth every cent.
