The positive part ends there. The establishment was dirty and smelled of old fried food, making it an unpleasant place to be. The bar area was in need of a thorough cleaning and refresh. The tables were dirty, despite the fact that we were the only customers in there. The bartender seemed unenthusiastic and never smiled.
Disappointed, we quickly left and headed to the bar across the street. The difference in atmosphere was striking. The bartender warmly welcomed us and a young man, who introduced himself as the chef, took the time to ensure we found something we wanted to eat. What a contrast.
Our wives found us at the second bar and remarked that they were not surprised we had not staye...
We visited the Cornerstone for the first time today It’s had a bad reputation for a long time However since being taken over about 3 months ago, all we have heard is good reports Great selection of beers and gin Fantastic food Choice of beef, gammon and turkey Roasties, veg and Yorkshire’s All very tasty Great atmosphere It is clear the new manager is working so hard to make it work We will be back
We decided to give this local pub a 'go ' for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. There was a choice of 3 roasts, good sized servings of meat and ample well cooked veg and yorkshire puddings. The new managers are working hard to change the image of this pub and they are succeeding. We plan to return again. It is certainly family friendly at Sunday lunchtime.
This is the best pub in Shefford! The service is excellent and the atmosphere is family-friendly. They have all the sports games on, so it's a great spot to watch with friends and family. The staff makes you feel like part of the family and the management is exceptional.

I had a great time at this pub with a live band! The Hendrix gin and tonic was perfect. The landlady was very friendly, the staff were smiley, and the tables were cleared promptly. I will definitely be back to try the food that everyone is raving about!

Great place if you like watching the manager snort coke in the 'garden '!! Always a good fight on a Friday too. Avoid this dump at all costs.

Popped in for pre dinner drinks stayed for 1 as several mixers weren't available,pleasent staff very clean
