We attended the croft hotel for Christmas day lunch that we had been looking forward to it was the worst Christmas lunch my family and myself have ever had the starter was inedible it was some kind of warm prawn cocktail which was disgusting it....The prawns were of very poor quality and over cooked. The sorbet which tasted like a frozen fresh orange was not like any sorbet we have ever had. No one could eat it . The main meal was cold and again very poor quality. In in whole the meal was terrible. Although we did complain it fell on deaf ears and were told to contact Best western ourselves. Which we will be doing . We have visited many restaurants in the past and some have been owned by Bes...
I had lunch at this restaurant with an old friend on October 8th and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had been redecorated since our last visit two years ago. I originally ordered steak with chips but had to change my order to gammon with chips after realizing that there was an overpriced surcharge for the steak at £23, which I felt was too expensive just for steak and chips. I ended up getting gammon with salad and chips instead, which was decent for £9, but I wished there were more than just 6 small "posh" chips for the price. However, I did enjoy my dessert, which was very good and reasonably priced.
The dining experience at this restaurant was surprisingly good, especially after reading previous guests' comments. We noticed that the menu was somewhat limited, but we understand that this might be due to the current circumstances. We stayed at the hotel and had both breakfast and dinner there. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our visit even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend The Croft to anyone looking for a nice meal in a friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Just left Croft spa, had a shocking Sunday lunch, first thing was the cigarette butts outside several empty packets discarded, as for the food!!!yorkshire pudding flat raw inside, meat had no flavour, gravy was like water, we did complain the barman said...we were the only ones complaining, well maybe our standards are higher, but that had to be the worse Sunday lunch we've had.. will never return will tell people.

my wife and I visited the afternoon. the hotel was clean and welcoming. emma was responsible for our table and was very good. the tee was delivered quickly and additional coffee and tee were provided. when we were unable to complete what was provided, they wrapped the rest for us to take away.
Please read reviews on The Croft Hotel. This gastro pub is part of the hotel. We had two evening meals here. The menu was limited due to changes in kitchen management. The food selected, was delivered promptly, well presented and tasty. The prices were very...reasonable.
Very nice food. Plenty of it. Although maybe onion rings were abit over the top and dry batter. Please tell the chef to look up panko batter lol Worth trying rather than trailing to Darlington.
What went wrong ? Had a brill Sunday lunch in August, came back yesterday and it was poor. Turkey dry and tough. Beef tough mashed potatoes had a strange taste. Leeks tough

I ordered the chicken balti and it was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had. It tasted like a cheap supermarket ready meal that had been processed and was not fresh.
bed and room spacious with tw at the foot of the bed. staff very helpful and friendly. eating was beautiful and huge portions.
