We stopped here for lunch on our way home from vacation, and what a hidden gem it turned out to be! It's a lovely pub with delicious food; I had the steak pie, which was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable — just £40 for two mains, two desserts, two drinks, and a coffee. The location is beautiful, and the ambiance is delightful. The staff provided excellent service and were incredibly friendly. Plus, they are very dog-friendly!
Went for lunch with a couple of hungry mates and were greeted warmly by the bar staff. We ordered some draught beers and sat outside. Our food arrived quickly and we demolished it like only three hungry blokes can do. It was delicious hearty food and well worth the short drive out of Abergavenny and price charged.
They were happy for us to use their car park while we walked up the Sugar Loaf. Returned there for some beers. A warm welcome and a choice of three real ales. A lovely pub.
