The Crown At Pantygelli

Came here with a friend and the husband to have lunch. It is a little out of the way, but even on the day we arrived it was cold, wet and miserable somehow that all disappeared when you walked through the door. Welcomed by a lovely member of staff and we sat down with our menus. Notable point, they have a very accessible toilet, other places should pay attention! Ordered drinks and food, and both were excellent. We all went for the fish and chips which was superb. If you are headed this way and fancy a good meal, pop in as you won't be disappointed. My wife and I went for an early dinner at the Crown at Pantygelli recently. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a starter of salt and pepper calamari, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I then had the slow cooked beef cheek in red wine sauce which was sooo tender and flavourful, the red wine sauce was perfect and the celeriac puree was a delicious accompaniment. My wife had the chicken, mushroom truffle pie with puff pastry, with tender pieces of chicken and tasty mushrooms in a creamy sauce. A lovely meal provided with excellent service. We had a meal here last night as a post wedding celebration. Firstly I'm glad I booked well in advance because the pub was very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was lovely, we were greeted by more than one member of staff. The staff were all fantastic, young enthusiastic, very accommodating and punctual. Excellent food and service. Best meal we had when holidaying in the area. All 4 of us chose something different and everyone was delighted with their meal. Well worth a journey but you will probably need to book. Service: 5 Location: 4

Had a great meal at lunchtime, even though pub was very busy, they found us a table earned there might be a delay but food served very promptly. Food and service so good we went back for lunch the next day. Service: 5 Location: 4
